This is the worst product ever. The DVR failed after one year. I kept it in a well ventilated area in my home (and it was in an AC'ed room). I've called support but the warranty has already expired. I'm very unhappy.

I purchased this after a recent break in. Very simple to set up if you now how to get around a computer. Fortunately the video from the company helped solve a follow up break in. Highly recommended product.

Installing the system was easy as was the mobile access. Capable of adding more cameras as needed. Solid quality.

I installed camera set-up at my home. if there is an event that I want to see it takes forever to find.

Ok, It's been five months now, First off with in 5 days of having this set up at my home it stopped recording. No big deal back to best buy I go for a new one. Well now 5 months later the same thing. All the cameras and video work. But when I went to search video to see what happen I find out that it hasn't been recording for two months. Customer service isn't open on the weekend. So I will see what happens Monday. The video quality is very poor. If you know the person in the video you can tell who it is. But if some one was to break in to your house you wouldn't be able to identify any facial features/tattoos etc. In the end I feel like this is just a big boys toy. Can not read a license plate at 20 feet away.

This system has extremely easy and user friendly setup. The manual is also very useful. A major upgrade from other systems I've worked with in terms of setup and quality. DVR has a nice small footprint. Cameras were already wired from the previous system had the new DVR and remote access up and running within 10 minutes.

So since day one, while viewing the live video feed on my monitor, the menu opens and closes, changes screens, and just generally freaks out as if someone is randomly moving the mouse and clicking the button every 30 seconds. Emailed Swann tech support, and waited. 4 days later the tech asked for the build number. I responded within 10 min. 10 days later another tech asked for the hardware number, and asked that I do not email them more than once regarding the same question. Again I responded with the info they asked of me. It has now been another 14 days, and no reply from either tech. It has been a MONTH since I have presented the issue of faulty equipment to them. I can still only watch about 20 sec of live video feed.

The software is not dual monitor capable. It opens on your primary display and that’s it. No minimizing to a smaller window, no moving it to another monitor. The manual confirms this. You can’t review footage for more than one channel at once. Support confirmed this. You are limited in the amount of configuration you can do from the software on your computer or even at the DVR for that matter. For example, say you decide to adjust the motion sensitivity on all of your cameras that have already been mounted. The way to adjust is by a joystick built into the cable that brings up on screen settings. This joystick is on the camera end of the cable. So you have to bring a monitor or TV (with the proper inputs) outside to each camera. Same goes if you have an area of the camera's view that you want to exclude from motion sensing (a bush that moves with the wind for example). When I slide the review speed slider to make playback go faster, it continues to play at 1x speed. Another time reviewing footage, it was playing in slow motion, even though it was set to play at 1x. Adjusting the slider had no effect. Support is out of Australia and you have to call them during their business day. I'm packing it all back up and bring back to the store today.
