Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with the ease of use, WiFi connectivity, recording flexibility, and picture quality of the DUAL LITE OTA DVR with WiFi. Many appreciate the simple setup and the commercial skip feature, but some users experienced issues with buffering, occasional heat generation, and reception problems. The need for an external hard drive for storage is also a recurring theme. While the interface and program guide are generally well-received, performance inconsistencies were reported by a few users.

Tablo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablo is the best , I was paying for cable tv $169 a month for nothing. All the tv Chanel I was watching was over the air like cbs, nbc, abc and fox. I live in a rual areal the closest air antenna is between 50-100 miles. I got my self a good antenna my husband installed it in the atic Now with the antenna and tablo I can watch 65 channels. It was easy to program it . We can watch two tv at the same time and record too. I record all my tv shows then the next day I watch them and I can skip the commercials. The key this is a good antenna and a good internet.

I forgot how much I missed DVR and I recommend this to all cable cutters out there! My only concern is the heat generated from the unit. That might effect the life...

Highly Recommended OTA DVR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We stream most of the TV programs we watch in our 2nd home using Roku and our primary home Xfinity account. But we missed our local news and PBS programing so we purchased the Tablo Dual Lite OTA DVR and a 5 TB 5 Elements Western Digital hard drive. The Tablo, Hard Drive and Lifetime Tablo Program Guide total one time cost was about the same as 1 month of Xfinity. Now we can enjoy ALL the same programs in our 2nd home. Our in home switched network support full 1080 Tablo recording and playback without any delays. Highly satisfied with our purchase.

Good Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like -Streams through the Firestick with the two TVs as well as the IPADs we have, - pretty easy to program - ok price - set up pretty straight forward Don’t like - lag when connecting, selecting, changing channels on devices and TVs, unlike instant response we are used to with TiVo - unlike Tivo if you are recording a program and watching it at the same time, and want to continue watching next program live on that channel, the Tablo freezes after a few seconds of the start of that next program, and you have to reselect live TV program/channel. -did not get the free trial 30 day extended channel listing/ programming capability.

Cord cutting made easy...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablo as a company has done (and continues to do) their homework with respect to 1) recording over the air (OTA) broadcasts and 2) making the recorded content available to stream. The user interface for the device is easy to setup and work with. Tablo has also provided multiple ways to access recorded content. We use an MS Edge browser for accessing content on PCs, and a Roku device for accessing recorded content on our TV. Everything works extremely well. We also make use of the commercial skip capability.

Works better than the silicondust one
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cut the cord a month ago, and used Locast until they closed shop. I tried the silicondust newest model, but I had nothing but skipping and pixellation with one of my local channels, of course the one I watch more than the rest. So I returned that and picked up this instead. Same external drive, same antenna, and this one has been flawless. I have no issues streaming to my Amazon Fire Cube that I have my OLED using after I cut the cord. I also tested it with my iPad Mini and my iPhone 11 Pro Max, both are great. Recording worked mostly OK, but one thing it said it recorded had some kind of issue and it would not play back. But the other was fine. I will rarely be recording anything on local channels anyway, I just wanted to be able to pause live TV sometimes. Otherwise I would've just had the antenna into the TV. I won't bother paying the fee for the guide since I'm fine with a single day and have no need of the advanced features for the little we use local channels for. Less than half the price of the silicondust unit and far, FAR more reliable. I'm happy with it.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. You will need an external hard drive to record shows. I love it also because you can skip forward through the commercials on your recorded shows.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice product as described. Performance is flawless and picture quality is excellent once adjusting in the settings. Installation was easy. The software takes a little time to get used to, but essentially it works and performs like any other DVR I have used. The biggest drawback is the Guide Service is only free for 30 days then $4.99 a month. You are not forced to purchase it and the DVR still is fully functional, just without most of nice guide features. If you have multiple TV's, one antenna hookup is all you need, as it recasts and streams live TV to all the other devices. If I was doing this over, I would probably get the 4 tuner model. This has exceeded my expectations.

Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device to get local OTA channels. In November, I cut the cord on cable and started out looking only at streaming services that included local channels. All of these services charge more for including local stations and I decided to give Tablo a try. The setup was very easy. I bought a 1TB drive that made it possible to record local programs. Tablo works well and I recommend it to those wanting to take control their OTA stations.

Does what I need it to do
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I "cut the cord" but then found that none of my 3 TVs were in a position where in locations where I could get a good signal with any of the many antennae I tried. And I had the added problem of how I was going to record the major networks. Delaying cable programs is taken care of by the streaming services. So it was the Tablo to the rescue with an external 1 TB drive, It's located in the house where an antenna does work, and since I have a Roku on every set, watching on any set is possible. And when I really need to, I can watch from out of the house. I really haven't had much trouble. I had to reboot it a few times before they upgraded the firmware but it has been rock-solid for a long time now.

A little surprised and very happy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this on a quick study of blog/magazine reviews (all complementary). I didn't focus on exactly how it worked. I got it home and realized that it streams even in-house (with a web-casting option). That let me put the antenna / DVR as high in the house as possible to get better signal. It has worked great so far, I get way more channels than I thought I would. Very easy to setup and a great aid to cutting the cord.

Great OTA DVR Solution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup Tablo Lite OTA DVR by connecting Tablo via Ethernet cable to Orbi mesh router satellite. Used 1.5 TB USB hard drive and formatting the hard drive and setting up channel scan was smooth. It helped to use amplifier for antenna to get more and clearer signals into the Tablo. It took several minutes to download channel guide and then a few minutes to setup apps on AppleTV devices. Overall the interface on AppleTV app for Tablo has been great and it does everything I hoped it would do. iPad app is also pretty user friendly as well.

Great Over The Air DVR!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally moved to a location where I am able to get television programming over the air (OTA). This DVR worked perfectly! You do need to provide your own hard drive to record. However, the guide works seamlessly and the commercial skip is terrific. You will need to pay a small monthly fee or a lifetime subscription option is available to keep the commercial skip and the advanced guide past the trial period. But it's worth it.

Superb. Exceeded high expectation.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up. Tuner quickly found all of the many over the air channels in my area. It Easily wirelessly joined my home network and establishes whole house antenna TV connection. So I can watch high definition free TV on my Roku and AppleTV equipped TVs as well as our iPads or phones. Customer service was also quick and helpful in responding to a question. I ‘d give it 6 stars if I could.

Great DVR for recording OTA broadcasts.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After "cutting the cord," I was looking for a way to record OTA programs. After total frustration with a different DVR system, I turned to Tablo with the dual tuner set up. I connected it to the home internet, added a 2 TB portable hard drive and a decent OTA antenna (37 miles from the broadcast towers), and with the Tablo app on my phone, it didn't take long to have local channels on all TV's in the house. Just one antenna... No stringing antenna cables... I use Tablo on Roku with our local internet on all TV's, and I can also watch my Tablo programming remotely on my mobile devices. As the 30 day free trial ended, I subscribed to their service. It's not expensive, and it provides conveniences like channel guides and better recording options including the extra-cost add-on "commercial skip" which automatically skips ads during playback. If you don't subscribe, you can still do things manually but no guides, no remote viewing and no automatic ad-skipping. I almost gave this a "4" because the commercial skip feature failed often. However with visual fast-forward and a fast Roku finger, I can live without this extra cost add-on. So "5" it is. Also, this gets a "5" thanks to the excellent staff at Best Buy. Buying and picking up the Tablo the same day is nice, and Geek Squad protection is available as well.

Very good addition for ota recording
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cut the cord a year ago and went with a provider that had all our local channels. In July we lost the NBC network and I started to look into an antenna solution. Soon lost CBS as well so got serious and decided that tablo was a good solution for us. The guide is slow to load is our only negative comment. Easy set up and networked on 3 televisions.

Essential item for cord cutters
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. Easy setup. Clean menu. Guide is very detailed. Streaming within home network to Roku and tablets/chromebooks/desktops, and to devices offsite is reliable and fast. Yes subscription for guide and for cloud storage required but it's reasonable and cloud storage is seamless. Compared buying a 1TB SSD and one year of cloud storage and went with cloud. Much better than Plex/OTA tuner or other media server type systems.
