    Taken Again?

aken, as a whole, is a good series of movies. It started out as a very good movie with a new and interesting concept. The second movie was a bit of a let down for me in a lot of ways but primarily in that it got lazy. Taken 3, the movie here, is a good movie and a much better effort at telling a new story. It ups the stakes a bit with a plot that makes you want to know more but I graded it down because the main "bad" guys are not well developed. You don't feel like you know them enough to hate them and physically they just aren't dominant on the screen. Neeson is great and he carries it well.

Its' pretty entertaining however...at this point it does get a little ridiculous. (Spoiler Alert) First off, if you are holding a knife over a woman that has her throat slit with two cops pointing a gun at you and you don't immediately follow their command, you're dead. Second, he's an old man now and I don't care how many CIA training camps he has been to, he is not jumping out of a two story window and bouncing off his back on a dumpster only to outrun more cops on foot and jump over fences and on rooftops. Is just a little too far fetched...even for a movie.

Taken 3 is a fast entertaining movie and a worthy successor to the first 2 films. 1 must leave their brain at the door to follow along as Liam's character destroys half of L.A. in his relentless pursuit of of wife's killers. He may be innocent in her death, but surely owes the city millions in restitution. He movie is well made and certainly keeps moving at a breakneck pace. Forest Whitaker's quirky police detective deserves his own spin-off movie 4 his scene stealing performance. The movie may be by the numbers, but it's also great fun

Yes, it is the 3rd movie of a franchise that should of stopped after the 1st one, but Liam Neeson is still a freaking Jedi. I was not expecting much from this movie, but it really surprised me. There is an event in this movie that kind of negates the 2nd movie, but still very entertaining. If I had to complain about something it would be the length. It is almost 2 hours, and the story is really drawn out. Crazy part is they cut it short, it could have been so much longer. I would definitely buy it again.

The "Taken" franchise has permanently reserved a place within my Action/Drama collection of films. Taken 3 has upgraded its character actors and complicated their plot. In some ways, this third installment is the best of the franchise. There are so many unforeseen aspects of this film being exposed. I enjoyed seeing his friends share their expertise, the daughter mature into a woman, new husband succumb to being human by being overtaken by greed, etc. F.W. is superb in his role as the lead detective. Details are extremely important to him and the most obvious elements help to paint a vivid picture. Great Movie with an All Star Cast with Depth.

Satisfying ending but still lacking something

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was definitely better than the disappointing sequel. I however actually did enjoy all three films. The first of course being leaps and bounds the best film, but this one brings it full circle. Bringing the story home for our characters, including all the fun side characters that usually get side stepped. It was a fun action packed movie with a decent story. If you enjoy the stories and the characters, I highly recommend checking this fine movie out.

As the final movie in the series I didn’t expect it to blow my mind. Action is still there and a decent story line.

For a movie that had two previously satisfying and entertaining movies, it failed to surpass them. While I missed my assailants from Trepoje and the film's lack of extreme combat, there still existed elements of suspense and surprises that left me entertained as well as somewhat disappointed (a completely biased answer). Overall, the movie was still good but if you expect it to be better than the other two, it was not. Still it should not stop you from watching it.

Drags a little from time to time but I definately enjoyed it. I found the chase scenes and "shoot 'em ups" were captivating. Don't pay attention to the reviews, go into it open minded and innocent and I believe you will enjoy it. BTW: you definately need to see the first two in order to enjoy this one. I've seen all three now. I'd like to have seen all three in one all nighter! I have never been bored nor disappointed in any Liam Neeson movie!

This is a really good movie!! If you haven't seen the previous two, you most definitely need to!! He wasn't quite as ruthless as I thought or wanted him to be for this being the third and probably final time he goes through this situation but it's still a really good movie. I bought it "site unseen" because I liked the other two so much so I definitely recommend the purchase of this movie & its two predecessors if you like these kinds of movies.

Taken 3 doesn't hit home on anything spectacular or introduce any crazy new plots. However if you are a fan of the series this is a good movie and a good ending to the "trilogy". In Taken 3 the scenario is a little bit different and added a little extra flavor to the story. I enjoyed this film and don't consider it a total "more of the same" experience. Worth a rent, maybe not a purchase unless you want to complete your taken collection.

The producer of Taken 3 tried very hard to spin all kinds of flavors into this action-packed movie, but it's hard to believe that it belongs to the Taken series. By itself it's an entertaining movie, but I cannot believe that they make the main actor to go through this fugitive stage. He is supposed to be cool and tough - not dirty and timid. I would prefer the plot stays as the previous two movies where I simply enjoying kicking butts.

This one is different than the first 2. It is not a rescue a family member, but more of a fugitive finding the real bad guy movie. Liam is great as always and Forest also does a great job. The action is up there, maybe more than, the first 2. One of the parts I thought was done by cg was actually not. SPOILERS!!! It happens at the beginning of the film. Famke Janssen just cannot stay alive more than 3 movies of a franchise. :)

A Fine addition to the Taken Series

This is a great addition to the Taken Series, however I feel it lacked just a little bit compared to the first two movies in the Series. It seems like people would learn you can mess with Bryan Mills ( Liam Neeson ) or his family. He has a certain knack for taken care of business when you do mess with his family. This does have a surprise at the beginning of this movie, but you'll need to watch it to find out what that is !!!

If you liked the first two, you'll like this one. Instead of a kidnaping, his ex-wife Lenore (SPOILER ALERT) gets killed, and he gets framed for it. The rest of the movie involves him outsmarting the cops and he, of course, sets out to find the real killers. This takes place in his home city, so he has the home turf advantage. There's lots of action and a twist or two, so it keeps your attention and is entertaining.

Okay. I have to say this was my least favorite of the 3 movies. First the daughter, then the wife and him, now just the wife (with a twist). What's next? The family dog? Despite the story getting a bit tired, I still enjoy watching. After all, he "has a particular set of skills". Not worth the price of a movie ticket, but a solid rental (and collection worthy at this sales price). Enjoy.

The TAKEN Trilogy has been successful because the format has been consistently solid – all the energy comes from Mill’s extraordinary love for his family and he will do anything to defend them. And in the case of Taken 3, it’s a do or die for the rescue of his beloved daughter Kim who’s played by Maggie Grace. Both solid acting and superb Directorship are coupled with a great sound-track and very believable sound-effects which leads to fantastic entertainment which is worth coming back to for more than just once.

Taken was a huge hit, and a very good movie, so they made taken 2 and it wasn't as good, so I didn't have high hopes for 3, but yeah, it's surprisingly better than 2. If you liked the first one, you can skip the second, you won't miss much. This movie won't be seen by as many people as the first two, but no reason why not. Liam Neeson and Forest Whitaker are both worth watching.

I purchased the third Taken movie in the Blu-Ray format and that is the best form when buying dvd's period. In this third and probably last movie in the series you get to see all of Bryan Mills (Liam) retired friends from his long past days in the operative business. These guys were in the first movie but not in the second, but they all are together here and help Bryan thru all the turmoil, confusion, and thugs. Well acted show with plenty of action and a good story line. Highly recommended!

Not a Bad Finish to the Trilogy

I was skeptical about purchasing Taken 3, thinking it would not be very good -- but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not as good as the first one, but it's a pretty good finish to the trilogy. The acting is not bad and the action is quite good. The first Taken is the best, the second is ok, and this third one fits in between the two. My wife and daughter both enjoyed it, as well.
