This is by far one of the best games including one of the best out of this franchise. The characters are very amusing and I truly felt connected to each one. The humor in many of the scenes had me chuckling out loud. The storyline is wonderful and there's just so much to do. So many costumes to collect and quite challenging when aiming for trophies. You can spend 100 hrs on the game easily. I highly recommend this gem.

Have you ever played a game that was so good you couldn't put down? Well if you haven't I recommend you buy this one because it is one of them. This game has beautiful textures and anime babes (mm Rita) also lots of adventures. You go out as this dirtbag Tales trying to help Sanic the Hedgehog. = Sanic and Tails must stop series antagonist Dr. Ivo Robotnik from stealing the Chaos Arthritis in Versperia to power his space station, the Death Bug.

One of the best JRPG's for Xbox 360 Returns

Tales of Vesperia is one of the best JRPG's released for the Xbox 360 and one of the best entries in the Tales series. It was criminal that it was locked to one system, but now it has gotten a remaster for all of the modern consoles that includes additional content that was originally only found in the Japanese PS3 version (extra characters, etc). My main criticism is that they didn't bring back Troy Baker to voice Yuri's new lines, instead bringing in another guy, so Yuri's dialogue throughout the game sounds disjointed (they kept the old lines and recorded new ones with a different actor, it sounds awful and lazy). Other than that, I highly recommend picking this up if you like RPG's with action combat and a heavy dose of (well executed) anime tropes.
Oh, and you can fight battles with 4-player co-op, but since only player 1 drives, it might be a little boring for everyone outside of combat.

In my opinion one of the best in the Tales series. Fun gameplay, great music and story, and it should last you a pretty good amount of time going from beginning to end if you try to do everything you can in the game. I always heard the game was highly regarded and now I know why.

This is one of those few JPRG that are fairly well rounded. You'll get a fun gameplay, enjoyable story, great music, graphic and overall presentation. I played this back when it was first released for Xbox 360. This remastered version came with extra contents that weren't in the original version.

I Played the Xbox360 version a few years back; and never have I been so enamored with a game, quite like with ToV. Tales has always held a special place in my heart as far as game franchises go, but ToV was the pinnacle in my eyes of what the series can be. It was a beautifully made and visually pleasing Masterpiece of JRPGs. The story managed to get out of that early game dredge and really make Characters out of it's characters, making you really spend time with and watch them become who their life choices will make them. it was a story that's very visceral and sometimes hard to swallow but done in a way that isnt obnoxious or forced; a really unexpected turn from the either childish and inoffensive JRPGs I'm used to or the needlessly gritty and edgy ones that tend to surface every once in a while. the tone is consistent and tries to keep things light when it can to give us a sense that this is the life someone could actually live (within the constraints of the universe they live in of course)
I love the Canvas style art; I love the HOURS of voice acting put in here by the VA's, down to many many optional interactions you can just miss if you so chose (I recommend you don't) the amount of content here is astounding.
The gameplay itself is good. very good! turn based mixed with controllable action and movement was new to me when I picked this up, and it's a concept I came to love about the Tales games. the game can seem a bit grindy at times and that is definitely a downer; not paying attention to the options for Artes and how to expand on them as they too evolve into burst artes and such will hamper you later in game when they become a great option for dealing with powerful foes. the game is involved and definitely not a short one (i put in 48 hours my first run) and even made a 100hour run once. but hey you paid $60 for a game GET YOUR WORTH OUT OF IT. VALUE!
I cannot, CANNOT praise this game enough. not because I need to either, this game has earned its place. it is a testament to how effort, patience, time, and just a little care for your customers and fans can lead to an experience that is unique and rewarding for everyone involved. and what I feel is a contribution to the medium as a whole.
Tales of Vesperia is 10/10.
Would Fight the Universe itself all over again.

(This is an updated re-release that was originally on the Xbox 360 and PS3 international)
The Tales series has always relied on its exceptional combat system to keep itself fresh and exciting.
The visuals are anime inspired. The music is memorable and the cast of characters keep the story flowing.
The story itself is somewhat cliche with heroes banding together to save the world. Along the way you will meet other characters that try to both aid and block you from succeeding in your mission.
For a game that's roughly a decade old, it has aged pretty well.
You get some nice DLC costumes with the definitive edition as well as some new story elements and a new character to use in combat.
All in all, a nice way to introduce players to an old game.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is a re-release of Tales of Vesperia which was released back in 2008 for the Xbox 360. This version of the game is similar to the PS3 enhanced port which was released later, but not in English.
Before going on, while this is on the PS4 version, it has been released on other platforms including the Xbox One.
The short version, if you are even partially interested in the Tales series or RPGs that are not turn based, buy the game.
Slightly longer version:
Combat - You control the characters directly (similar to a fighting game )
Visuals - Very colorful and vibrant.
Story - Told well for the most part, the voice acting is competent.

The original game was stuck trapped on the Xbox 360 for years which made no sense as Xbox is not a popular platform to the Japanese or jrpg lovers. There was a PS3 version that had added content bonus playable characters more story but unfortunately we never got it. Tell now finally after so many years of crying out for the definitive version we have it on current gen systems and a first for the Nintendo switch. If you love jrpgs as much as I do you can't go wrong with this game that is hailed as one of the best tales games of all time. Now if only we could get tales of Destiny 1 and 2 and phantasia ports/remakes that be swell.

So this gem came out in the 360 days and the 360 version looked and played just fine. Later on an enhanced ps3 version came out in Japan only. Now we have the ps3 version converted for all major platforms and it is glorious. All the added dlc is free and added to this version. The frame rate is a bit better and the ps4 version runs at full 1080p 60 in and out of battle (as does the game on the xbox one x). The game is over 10 years old but the story and gameplay still hold up today. It also allows for very fun single screen (sofa) co op. You also finally get both Japanese and English voice tracks. If you like jprgs you need to give it a try.

I've played the original Tales of Vesperia and that was a great game at the time. With this remaster version, this game is just as good as it always is. The remaster updates the graphics from the original 360 version. The game has a great story with a great cast of characters and will keep you on the edge with it's story. This is one of the best Tales games in the series and it's a must play for Playstation owners.

One of the, If not THE, best Tales games In a crisp 1080p 60fps! In addition to being a great game all around this remaster of Tales of Vesperia Is based on the Japanese-exclusive PS3 version which adds so much content that It makes the original Xbox 360 version feel kinda barebones In comparison. All the DLC, which are just costumes and early unlockables for some items, are Included as well so you're definitely getting the full Vesperia experience!

I love the tales series. If you have played one of the newer ones you know what to expect for the most part. If your new and never played... My favorite aspects are the story which they do great with and the combat. The combat is probably the best combat for gaming in my opinion. You control the characters and have many different attacks and strategies that can be used. Semi free flow combat.

I had played other games in the Tales series but not the original Vesperia. What can I say, it's old-fashioned JRPG gameplay but with the Tales series' trademark real-time action combat. There are 9 playable characters, each with their own completely unique movesets you can experiment with to find your favorite. Run around and attack enemies any way you want, and up to 4 players can work together! I haven't played Vesperia with friends but I have played some earlier titles, and it adds a lot to the combat.
The story is bog-standard for games of this genre, a boy and a princess out to save the world and everyone grows up along the way. To be fair I haven' t finished it yet, but the plot has already taken a couple of twists I didn't see coming.
The game's cel-shaded art style has barely aged in the 10 years since the original came out, and on my regular PS4, it runs almost constantly at a lovely 60fps. Only a couple of very crowded city scenes have made the framerate dip at all. Overally I'm really pleased with the game and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun RPG that's not too demanding, especially if you have friends to enjoy it with.

Great cast of characters, amazing combat depth for a JRPG that spans 40-60 hours long, and an ageless art design that still looks good today. If you don't prefer the English dub, the game gives you the opportunity to switch to Japanese before starting the game.
I never played the original, so I would put in the category of one of the best JRPGs released this year since it's new to me.

This is a classic RPG that you can get a good 50 hours out of. Very likeable characters and a good story are had in this game.
Its an action combat RPG and is one of TALES FRANCHISES best works. Though most are good, this one sticks with you. I rate this right up there with the first Symphonia and Abyss for a Tales game that has a lot of moments that will stick with you.

This is the best way to play the game it runs 60fps both in game and in cutscenes.
If you missed out getting this game last gen when it was out for 360 then now is the perfect time to correct that problem. The combat, story, and characters are all wonderful and you will have a great time experiencing the story
Highly recommend!

Easily the best Tales of game in the last 10 years and one of the better ones in the series long run. Great characters with a strong story and interesting world. Full upgraded graphics with 1080p 60 frames per second gameplay (on PS4, switch and Xbox are lower) and all of the Japanses bonus content from the PS3

I've waited so many years to play this game and it was highly worth the wait. They give you all the DLC outfits and extra bonus items if you need them. Dual audio. Great visuals. Gameplay is fantastic while being a bit harsh in difficulty if you play on hard. Worth the buy.

This game originally only released on the Xbox 360 in the US over 10 years ago but is now available on PlayStation 4 and Switch. It's one of the best Tales games and best JRPGs of the past decade. It also includes content that was only in the Japanese version back when.
