If you played any of the tales of games and liked them it wouldn't be too much a jump to say you would enjoy this one, but while I was playing something felt off. Ithe was as if the game was trying toout hard to be a fantasyear game and the story suffered for that.

The tales games have always been interesting and have colorful animated characters like a cartoon. This one is no exception the graphics look awesome. The combat is fun and the story is interesting.

I don't mean to put this game down in anyway but I have to say that if you have played a tales game before you have played this one as well. Not much have changed in the game concerning the clichés characters and weird voices that sound too childish or out of touch with reality. The battle system still the same as the game back to gamecube even. The new "thing" works like a dragonball fusion character and that's it.
ok now talking about the good points the game gets better as it advances as it seems the developers notice the need to accelerate the game a bit as it progresses (something that I think is on purpose on tales games) and some of the later effects seem a little bit graphics intense

All the staples you'd expect from a Tales game, including borrowing a lot of the right elements from the right games, and some solid VO work. However, very graphically underwhelming on the PS4. It's time BAMCO got with the times.

This is my first Tales game, and I feel that it is a good introduction to the series for newcomers. It has very likable characters, an easy and unique combat system and most of all engaging story.

My son loves it. Reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons. Lots of detailed control of character abilities during battle. Open world design with one player directing where the party goes during the game. Other characters can be controlled by other players or by AI, allowing players to come and go throughout the game.

While I loved the 2 Zillia games, I think so far this one may surpass them. Haven't gotten much play in uet, but graphics are gorgeous, and the characters I've met so far are interesting.
If you played a Tales game before, you won't need much to figure out the combat etc.

Overall the game is fun, but they could have done a lot better. The camera is the main issue sometimes you can't see what's going on while in battle. But other then some cheesy line it' still a fun game to play.

This is a fun and complicated game depending on your play style. I love RPG's (Role Playing Game) and this is a good example of the classic true (J)RPG style. The main focus of the game is story telling and adventure.
Graphics: The graphics are not top end but are still decent. The cut scenes are a combination of anime clips, 2D character portraits, and in game graphics. Voice acting in both Japanese and English. Occasionally if you skip dialog and cut scenes you will have to wait for the game to catch up. Example: Skipping 6 boxes of text rapidly I had to wait until the character had drawn his weapon before I could skip more.
Fighting: Hack/Slash and magic just like previous "Tales of" games. You are confined in a circle of conflict when the battle begins and are graded / rewarded on how the fight resolves. You can evade most random monsters before a fight but also be warned you can encounter 2 groups of monsters at once producing a "Dangerous Encounter" Example would be fighting 6 squirrels twice in a row for 12 total. There will also be small banter between party members after a fight
Game Options: There are multiple difficulties which can be selected. There is also a progression system that allows you to increase the difficulties after you win X amount of battles in the hardest difficulty. This makes the battles harder but also changes the rewards possible. You can quicksave almost whenever you want as well as save points in the field. The time needed to Save then Load a game is quite fast.
Audio: Music is good but can get repetitive. The Voice acting syncs up well, there is a few places where delayed or early dialog happens.
This game is available on the multiple platforms but I recommend the PS4. I am only 30 hours into it and still having fun doing the side events and leveling items, even attempting to kill mini-bosses on hard difficulties without dying.

This game is really good, easy to learn, good graphic, fun gameplay, and great story too. I have spent lots of hours in this game already. And with the price, it makes it even better.....
