Lapatop space is larger than needed but velcro belt holds securely.

I received this item as a gift. I do not recommend this item. It is so large and cumbersome and once the laptop is inside, it is painful to carry the case.

Can't think of a better laptop case. I'm able to fit everything i need PLUS more. It's very padded but not bulky in the least. There are pockets of all shapes and sizes to fit whatever you need. I'm even able to comfortably and safely fit my 1TB external hard drive with the power adapter easily into the case. All in all, The best case I've owned. Ordering two more for my other laptops.

I needed a laptop case that can hold Dell M6600 17" laptop. When it comes to these bigger laptops there are not that many choices to choose from. I picked up this case because I had a similar case from Targus before which I was using for my Dell Precision M4300. That case was for 15.6" laptops. Comparing the two case (the old and new) I found the following differences: ADVANTAGES: 1) This bag comes with a adjustable size division to hold smaller laptops (i.e. smaller than 17"). Not really useful for me but could be for someone else reading this review. 2) Comes with a mesh pouch to hold your cables and accessories. I use this everyday to store my phone charges, spare battery for phone etc. This is useful than the other mesh pockets as it can hold things that are little thicker which normally will protrude out from the regular mesh pockets in any laptop bag. 3) This bag is quite roomier i.e. you can store lot of things which usually makes it heavier to carry around. 4) The shoulder strap hooks are made of metal instead of cheap plastic. 5) Has a good hand grip to hold this heavy bag incase your shoulders get tired of lugging your stuff around. 6) The bottom of the bag has extra rubberized cusioning to protect the laptop. It is also very useful in protecting the laptop bag if you travel a lot as it protect the laptop as well as the laptop bag from damage. DISADVANTAGES: 1) As others have said before the front clip is quite tight (i.e. not easy to open). On my old laptop case the front flap used a velcro instead of the plastic clip. 2) Even when you open the clip the front pocket only opens from 1 side. I guess this design is to protect the things falling when you travel. but I liked my old design which had zippers on both side so I can open the front properly. Now when I put things in the front pocket I have to move my hand around and feel the things that I am trying to take out as you really cannot see properly. I have taken 2 stars away from appearance as it looks just like any other bag. Nothing new or extraordinary to catch your attention. I have also taken 3 stars away from "Ease Of Use" because of the front flap issue i.e. not being able to open easily as well as completly.

Bought this to lug around my 17" HP Entertainment laptop. Fits the laptop nicely with a little room to spare in the main compartment. Its easy to carry, comfortable to shoulder, and has lots of pockets inside, plus the pouch on the outside to store lots of items. It was a little pricey, but worth it, as it appears to be built with quality in mind.

I picked this out after reading other reviews online at BestBuy.com about it's durability, carrying compartment, and water resistance. While I have not been in a downpour recently, I can say that this laptop case is very durable and delivers what it's advertised to do. The carrying compartment is spacious, and has several closed Velcro pockets that are accommodating for mice, cords, etc. The main carrying compartment has a strap for tying down the laptop. It also has another lateral strap if you plan on placing a smaller laptop in so that it fits snug and wont shift around. (I have a VAIO that's 17 inches so I do not use the lateral strap.) There's a separate file compartment for paper work, and a buckle compartment for pens, I.D. and everything else you'd need. Sides have rubber bumpers, and the bottom setting side of the main case has an elevated foam dome that is supposed to absorb shock if you drop it inadvertently. I handle my laptop like it's C4, so I've never dropped it to see if this feature works. But go ahead and try. I also have yet to spill something that stains on it, but polyester is pretty good at resisting stains. Shoulder strap is adjustable and doesn't dig. Carrying handle wont make your hand sweaty, unless you run around for 20 minutes or so. I will say this; it's a high price for polyester. The mothers at BestBuy will be laughing to the bank if you buy it at sticker price, so hold out to see if you can swing a 50 or 60. Other than that, Targus has manufactured a solid product. If you want to see your laptop make it to 4 years, get this bag.

This bag has plenty of room and to spare for my Dell 17.2, with room to spare for the mouse itself, a cord, removable media, earbuds, etc.. There is a nice section for paper and folders, but it would probably not fit a binder or textbooks of any size. The laptop compartment has loops for a padlock. The entire thing feels sturdy yet is light to carry and comfortable on my shoulder. The handle is comfortable also for when I also have to carry my backpack. This bag is easy and convenient to pack. Best Buy pricematched a competitor on this one, making it a great product at a decent price.

I love this case! It is durable, fits laptops of various sizes, has many pockets to carry everything that you could need!

I just bought a 17" laptop and was looking for a bag to keep it in. Although this bag was a little bit more then I originally wanted to spend, the money was worth it. It has a lots of pockets to keep accessories (like the wires, a mouse, CDs, and paperwork. Plus having the shoulder strap is also nice and it doesn't hurt your neck/shoulder like some straps can. I higher recommend this case for anyone looking for one to fit a larger size laptop.
