I am very satisfied with the TCL 6 series. The set up was a challenge, but not so difficult as to be maddening. It’s a smart tv with built-in Roku, so there’s going to be some effort needed to get everything programmed and running. Once I was able to get that done, I was impressed by the quality of the picture and how easy the Roku is to use. The legs for the tv are an issue, though. I don’t have a stand wide enough to hold it. I solved that by buying a separate universal pedestal mount for the tv. It was an extra expense, but a needed one. TCL could fix that issue for future models. Overall, I recommend the TCL for its bang for the buck.

Great TV. Be prepared, the picture is BRIGHT!
Roku works just as advertised. Not happy with the location of the volume/mute buttons but nice to have only one remote.

We set up the TCL 6 series next to the Samsung TU8000 and the Vizio quantum 7 series and the TCL stood out (especially against the Vizio (I wanted to compare against Vizio 8 series which rates very highly on rtings.com in this price range)
TCL easy to set up, Roku is very effective, remote small and clunky. Great picture quality after making a few fine tuning adjustments.
One 'con' noted on rtings is a very real problem, the TCL has problems with motion, creating a ripple effect around a moving object, quite disappointing but I will learn to live with it.

This TV is AWESOME. For the price, the quality rivals Vizio p series and even mid line sony like my x900h. We use it for every day viewing as well as playing switch and performs wonderfully. The UI is responsive, the app works well with it, and works with Dolby vision through streaming devices which make the picture pop even more using all of its dimming zones. This TV is a no brainer if budget is within 900 and below. Step up IMO is the 2020 quantum p series and sony's x900h (i own one as my main gaming tv), and even samsungs q80.

Purchased the TCL because of the reviews and Roku. It replaced a 13 year old 720p Samsung plasma screen. I miss my plasma. TCL does have a good picture and many features. As others have mentioned it does have a strong odor and the viewing angle falls far short of my old plasma. I have found myself adjusting the settings to get the best picture depending on what I am watching. It is not “set it and forget it”. For the money spent I am satisfied. Couldn't justify spending 2 to 3 times more for an OLED model. PS, the YouTube app buffers when changing channels and features. Doesn’t with my Apple TV 4K.

I purchased this TV about 1-2 months ago and I am loving it. The 4k Screen is crisp and clear and the Roku TV software is top notch (My wife and I have been using Roku for years so having it integrated is great).
4 HDMI's is a great upgrade from the 2018 model even if in my setup 1 is solely used for ARC, and thankfully with Roku built in 3+Arc is enough for our setup. Sound from the TV like all budget TV's is terrible and I recommend buying a sound bar to go with it if you are lucky to find a sound bar that works. I have found that some sound bar companies don't quite works as well as I would hope with the TV. The best I have found without setting the volume to 50% on the TV is actually the old LG soundbar I had originally while the sony one I bought with it was kind of lack luster.
Only other downside we have seen is the Wireless network will not auto connect and sometimes you have to "Check Network" To get it to connect to your router. Not a big issue but can be annoying if you just want to start wathcing a show, but this only happens when the auto-off function activates.
Pros
- Great lookings screen for the price
- Roku TV built in freeing an HDMI for me
- Roku TV just being amazing
- Clear options to turn off "Soap Opera" effect
Con's
- Sound is bad from TV itself
- Doesn't play well with all sound bars
- Wireless Network sometimes needs to be reset after power off
- Limited options to customise sound or some video options

Learned a bit on smart tv buying. This hit all the marks for me.
I wanted a simple and easy remote with voice input. I wanted a Roku (or Amazon Firestick) as I’ve been disappointed in other smart TV interfaces and added them anyway.
Since I prefer Roku over Fire Stick, I landed on this TV. Setup was easy. Once I changed Picture Mode to Movie and tweaked the Picture Settings to my personal preferences, I was knocked out by the picture. This was way better than I expected and I expect to enjoy it for years to come.

I got the TV just before Super Bowl Sunday & mounted it. I didn't change much in the settings immediately but the picture was PHENOMENAL to say the least. I've been so impressed with the picture quality. Avatar came through so rich & almost 3D like! The other features like Roku have all worked seamlessly as well. This unit is an extreme value when compared to the likes of LG, Samsung & Sony. If you're looking for a tv with great picture quality & is feature rich, you'll be hard pressed to beat the TCL 6000 Series. Buy with total confidence.

I originally bought the R635, but had a little issue with Dolby Vision movies on Netflix and Disney+ (felt the picture could be a little more brighter and a little more clear with details). Felt the R625 was a little better, did notice the Dolby Vision movies were a little more clear and bright. It's a very good 4KTV for the price, and I will be happy for some years. But I also feel there's better 4KTVs out there (you just have to pay more).

Had to replace a 6 year old Vizio 4K 50". Some research within my target price range led me to this TCL 55" at Best Buy.
Everything works fine, and the picture quality is excellent!
Recorded movies, DVD's and streamed movies show in amazing detail, true colors and clear detail.
I have it optically connected to my Vizio 5.1 surround sound system, which was a little finicky to get setup, as usual, but sounds fabulous now! I've used Roku devices before, so this interface for TV was no big deal to navigate.

Best bang for your buck all the way around with the TCL Series 6! The sound is great, much better than Sony, Samsung, and Vizio. The picture on this TV is fantastic for the price. It isn't quite as good as the Samsung 8 series, but definitely as good as their 6. This tv has all sorts of features and the layout is easy to navigate. The ability to use a USB to pause live TV is a great feature too. After 10 years with Vizio, I'm glad I now have TCL for less money and better picture and sound!

I’ve read tons of reviews on this TV and they rated it very high. I was doubtful considering I’m a bit snobby when it comes to electronics. Those reviews were spot on. Comparing this to my Samsung KS8000 it holds up very well. There’s some things the Samsung does better but it is very few. Also the Samsung was double the price. You will not find a better bang for the buck from a 2019 TV. I highly recommend getting this. So much so I bought a second one for my sons room.

I purchased this TV for a basement bedroom not thinking that it would get a ton of use. The price tag fit that use case perfectly. I was completely blown away at how amazing the picture quality is. The ease of setup, the user experience, and the multiple entertainment options make this tv one of the best TVs in our house. The smart features are top-notch and I am very impressed with the quality of this TV. I can see why TCL is winning awards for their products.

I have heard how good the TCL TVs are from my sister and girlfriend. They are right I love the tv. When I play Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4, it looks so beautiful and the lag input is incredible when I play Call of Duty Modern Warfare. If you are a video gamer, this tv is just for you. Also watching YouTube and Netflix is great on the tv. The Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos Audio quality is superb and crisp! It’s definitely worth the buy for a budget tv.

I picked this up for my daughter, who is a fan of the Roku platform. Setup was a breeze, and the picture is terrific (set it to Movie mode), even on older streaming content from the 80s. Roku has every app you'd care to use, and the home screen is totally configurable. 200x200 Vesa holes worked with the existing wall mount in her house. Great purchase!

I was surprised this model was not on display at my store, but I went with it based on solid reviews I read elsewhere.
For the price point, this model offers a lot!
It did take some tweaking of the advanced video settings to setup the different video modes the way I liked. So, if you are not happy at first, search for some guides on setting up the advanced video settings. You will likely be very surprised by how amazing this model can look once you break out of the factory defaults.
I prefer using the local dimming zones set to medium or high for video. Dynamic contrast was a little sketch in my limited viewing. Dynamic may be better for sports.
One feature I did not read about was the ability to plug in a flash drive(USB) for 90 minutes of OTA antenna "DVR" capability. This allows you to pause live OTA tv for up to 90 minutes and then fast forward/rewind. A nice touch.
Overall, very happy with my purchase and hope that this TV holds up for a while. I was using Roku devices on other TVs, so the transition was smooth. I'm about a month in and very happy.

Roku makes set up of this TV a breeze. Remote is simple and easy to use. Picture is unmatched in this price range. CNET ranked this the best 55" TV in its class and it's easy to see why. TV is also unmatched for gaming purposes as it's also rated the fastest (least amount of lag) that's ever been tested.

Great TV. Good picture, bright, HDR, good color. Roku interface is as fast as you’ll find on any Roku device. Motion smoothing can struggle, though that’s common especially with a 60hz display. I’m not a fan of the ‘soap opera’ effect though so I have it off on all my TVs anyway. Turning it off and using ‘cinema mode’ is ideal for this TV. Overall for the price range, this is still one of the best displays you can get.
