I'm sure that there are other panels and OLEDs that exceed this TV slightly in a few areas but if you need a very large screen and this is as good as it gets unless you want to spend 4x the price. Coming from a mid line Samsung 82 inch the difference here is mind blowing. Speakers are whatever but if you're buying a screen this size you already have a sound system or else you should.

Decided to go outside of my comfort zone for TVs which is usually a Samsung or Sony. I wanted to upgrade to a 100in TV but did not want to pay an arm and a leg. I went back and forth between this TCL 98QM8K and Hisense U8QG. Took advahtage of the Labor Day Sale and picked up this bad boy for less than $3K! Tons of premium specs for an awesome value! The "borderless" screen is fantastic. The clarity on 4K stuff is magnificent. Warning: Out of the box, the colors are a bit off, in my opinion, and the judder and motion blur watching sports needs work. Once I hook this up with some updated HDMI cables to my new Onkyo NR-7100, and playing with my settings, I'll update this review to share whether that improves some of the motion issues.

This TV delivers outstanding performance for the money. The picture quality is superb. The brightness is staggering, and the contrast and inky black levels are comparable to OLED for anyone who isn’t a pixel peeper. HDR content looks phenomenal, and the sheer size makes everything feel immersive. With a PC connected, the high refresh rate and FreeSync support work flawlessly for gaming. It genuinely feels like a high-end display without the high-end price tag.

The TCL Q98K has thus far works and looks excellent. It may be partly due to the Denon receiver, which may help with a clear picture. It is easy to navigate, and the backlit remote provides significant assistance.

I also own an LG OLED TV, in compare to TCL QM8K looks fantastic. I genuinely love it. I never feel like I’m not watching an OLED TV. However, it requires minor color calibration out of the box.

We thought about a new 83” OLED but we really wanted a bigger TV than our current 85”. We chose the 98” TCL after looking at both the LG and the TCL. Both looked very similar. So glad we went with TCL and got a bigger screen for Les money. Win/win.

It’s a great TV. Now you can pay more for another brand (Samsung Sony or LG) but you won’t get a better TV……especially when you are viewing in 4K. And the price on this thing, for what you’re getting is unbelievable.

Picture quality is amazing. The large screen is immersive. I own some OLEDs and the larger screen overall is better than the very slight difference in picture quality. Highly recommend as best value for price on a high end TV.

The picture is very good, similar to the 2024 model. I was hoping for more improvements with the new 2025 version, specifically with motion and upscaling. I upgraded moving from the 85” QM8 to the 98” QM8k which was a huge change in size. Overall I’m pleased with the purchase and the sale price during Prime days. The free installation offered by Best Buy ended up being a disappointment due to quality of the work and skill of the contractor. Best Buy really needs to step up their game when it comes to installation.

The TV exceeded my expectations. Excellent picture and the user interface is easy to learn. Best Buy did a great job with the delivery as well.

This 98-inch screen is unbelievably immersive! The Mini-LED picture is stunningly bright with incredible contrast, completely transforming movie nights and gaming. It's a total game-changer for our bright living room.

Excellent 4k tv with the caveat that 1080i and 720p upscaling of tv content is lacking compared to the likes of Sony, Samsung and LG. I hope TCL will continue to improve this in the near future.

I wanted to upgrade my older 75” display to a more immersive and larger display for my basement movie area. The QM8K with the latest v313 firmware in Filmmaker mode delivers. HDR pops, this thing is really bright, I may even need to crank it down a notch it’s so bright. When Gaming it automatically switches over to game mode, very smooth. No issues. Overall I’m satisfied, would recommend. Great value.

TWe purchased the 98" and I have to say it is a spectacular tv. Makes your living room look like a movie theater! Crisp, clear and bright picture with easy set up and easy programming. We paired it with the TCL home theater sound system, and it is out of this world fabulous. We just love it as you can tell.

I love this tv. The size is perfect for the massive wall in my living room, It is replacing a 65" LG OLED that I love even more. This TCL produces a great picture and better than average sound, but it cannot beat an OLED with its "inky" black levels and legendary contrast. To quantify, I would say that this TCL will get you 85 to 90% of what an OLED is capable of, but I can't afford a $25,000 LG OLED. If you are going for size, this is the one to get.

I replaced a Sony 75" with this Awesome 98" 98QM8K Home Theater TV. The picture is stunning and the immersive experience that a 98" screen provides needs to be experienced personally to be believed.

If you want to get as close to OLED as possible, this is the TV to get. I purchased the 98'' TCL QM8K and I am just elated at the picture quality. Dark blacks, true whites, bright colors, this TV has it all. I highly recommend this TV. Good job TCL!

Great TV. Pictures and colors are amazing. The remote also lights up when using. Good feature at night.

I have this in an upstairs living area so the extra brightness is wonderful. 60% brightness is more than enough for even midday viewing. The picture quality and sharpness have been impressive. I can't comment on the sound quality as I've only used my surround system with it.
