I've been through four sound bars and thus far this is the best. combining it with its like brand TV, TCL, it has worked very well ... only problem thus far is that while using it I cannot use my regualar speakers that I have hooked up to my sound system. Otherwise, it is worth the money and I thoroughly enjoy it while listening to movies.

Not much better than the build-in speakers

Maybe the 7+ 2.1 model could do a better job. It also does not sense audio input automatically, so you have to manually switch it (I play the music from my phone connected through bluetooth -- when I later turn on the TV, I have to find the remote and switch input source, which is inconvenient). The soundbar, though, could play the music much louder than the TV, though. To be fair my expectation is probably too high as I am trying to compare this sound bar with a setup with TV + AVR + decent 5.1 speakers, which cost a heck lot more than this soundbar.

Meh...

I used the HDMI cable using the ARC input. I do like the fact that even though the remote comes with the sound bar, you can actually just use the TV remote to control the sound (if you use the HDMI ARC input). It doesn't seem to get really loud. I have a Visio soundbar in my living room with a subwoofer, that you can most definitely tell the difference with the sound quality. I have this soundbar in my bedroom, so it's not really a big deal that I don't have "theater quality sound" in my bedroom. This particular sound bar does not have a subwoofer, maybe that would have helped.
