This is my first soundbar, so I can't really compare it to others, but it has been great for shows and awesome for movie nights! The wireless subwoofer definitely adds that needed, but typically missing, low end. The setup was easy as we purchased it with a TCL TV at the same time, so they work together pretty seamlessly. I love that they include ALL of the required cords/cables. I did not need anything additional to hook it up to my TV. Good Job TCL! My only knock against it is the mounting setup is pretty limited; it is designed to hang on a wall with a couple of screws. It was not made to be mounted to the TV or TV brackets, right out of the box... I did buy sound bar extension brackets from Amazon.com to add to my existing TV mount, and luckily, it came supplied with "studs" that attach to the sound bar wall-mount holes... Again, not the end of the world but seeing as though the TV is mounted on a brick wall, I really did not want to drill more mounting holes into the brick. All that to say, I am thoroughly enjoying my new sound bar!

With Hamilton coming to home TV July 3, it was time to break down and get a sound bar to fully enjoy it. Settled on this one after reading many reviews and comparing cost for value. Very happy with my purchase - even I could install it on my older TV, no issues. Sounds GREAT to me, and I am glad I sprang for the subwoofer version, makes a big difference. Shipped super fast, then arrived a day early - nice surprise. Cost the same as a ticket to Hamilton, so we did not throw away our shot and are ready for our viewing party. Also enjoy streaming radio and itunes through the bar from my iphone. Great product.

So i will start this review with 2 small points that may or may not apply to you. 1, I bought this strictly for my bedroom so earth shaking surround sound was not the goal. And 2, after all discounts I only paid $40 out of pocket. Pros: The vocal peformance is the definition of crispy clear, like a fresh fried potato chip. Its almost too crispy, I would have taken a hair off the highest frequency (more on that later). Sound seperation is excelent, within the confines of 4 small speakers directly in front of you anyway. When watching Avengers endgame for instance, the vocals are nicely seperated from all the ear candy going on in the background of this type of movie, while handling said ear candy equally as well. Bass is very good, again its in my decent sized (but still smaller than a living room) master bedroom. The opening scenes of the aforementioned Avengers shook the windows (jusssst a little) Finally, the hookup is very simple as the box includes every cable needed. Also there is a paper template for mounting. I was done in less than 30 min Cons: Remember the crispy clear vocals, yup, if they are too cripy for you your out of luck. There are only 3 preset eq settings, movie (best), voice for news/podcast, and music. Movie is the only one worth using but in addition to not having at least a 3 band eq, there is no way to adjust the sub seperatly, this may be an issue at night. There is no volume indicator. The light blinks on the front but does not tell you the level. Not a deal breaker but still a little annoying. The unit reacts to my spectrum cable remote, and not in a good way. I dont know if this is the fault of one or the other but when i page down on my guide the unit turns down, annoying. Overall i think if you are using this unit in a bedroom or a smaller living room or similar sized area you will be very pleased, just know it quirks and limitations. It is most definetly a giant leap ahead of tv speakers for clarity and loudness, and will give a decent low end boost. Soundbars that have "great" performance are very overpriced to me because once you get past the 250-300 dollar mark, you can build, at the very least, a decent 2.1\3.1 component system and get much more functionality out of it. In the end It was a worthy purchase though (i guess i could have just said that in the beginning ;\

I don't know the longevity of the product, but I bought this for my TCL 6 series 55 inch Tv and it works great. I can use one remote to control everything. Now the base seems average And I'm use to crappy sound so the sound bar sounds great to me. I only have it around 12/100 volume. I would recommend based on price and if you have a TCL TV. If you want the whole sound experience and no TCL I would grab something else.

Hooked this up to our 55" TCL TV and it replaced a decade-old Sony soundbar which had stopped working. We wanted something that would integrate well with our TV and it does. Seamlessly. Our living room is quite small, so we didn't need a big system. The wireless subwoofer has worked without a hitch and no delay that I've noticed, which is good. That said - this is a soundbar with no additional extension speakers, so it's not going to rival a real surround sound system or true home theater feeling. It's better for music (bluetooth works well) than TV or movies. For the price, it's a decent soundbar system and a step up from TV speakers, but those wanting deep bass or a real theater experience should probably spend more.

This is a great small room soundbar; it's not movie theater quality. The settings for the level of sound needs to be higher than the TV speakers, just different I guess. I mainly purchased this soundbar because of the HDMI ARC capability and am very happy. This soundbar does perform very well and I may purchase another for a different room. It is also very affordable and a great buy for what you receive.

Great sound! Took a bit of finagling to setup, but realized that it's actually pretty simple. The directions just weren't entirely clear for someone unfamiliar with doing what you needed to in order to connect the bar to my TV. When disconnected or unplugged, you occasionally have to go back to the settings and realign so the sound of the TV and bar are unified again. Good sound though and looks good!

Great price. Decent sound. Doesn't pair well with my Vizio television - had to shift from HDMI/ARC to optical connection. So I have to control with the sound bar remote (boo) rather than the TV remote. Don't know if this is an issue with the bar or the TV.

I have never used a soundbar. I bought this unit to match my TLC TV. The sound is great. I don't listen to music on my TV but the sound for movies is clear and I can hear the bass. I did not rate it a 5 because it's difficult to know what mode you are on. I am supposed to know if I am supposed to know I am synched to the blue tooth by the color of the soundbar light. However, the lights on the soundbar are so small that it's difficult to tell what color it is. I made a mistake using the remote control and lost sound. It took me several minutes to get it back. I still don't know what I did to lose sound and what I did to get it back lol.

I believe this soundbar and subwoofer package is a great value. Easy setup (I have a TCL Roku TV), vastly improved sound, and it looks great. I love having the HDMI ARC option. Could be louder, but honestly it is such an improvement, I haven't fiddled with it.

Easy to set up and use. Concise foot print that sits perfectly under our 55" TCL flat screen TV. Sounds really good, especially like the matching bass woofer. The remote is simple and we also configured so we can adjust volumes with our Comcasr remote control.

Sound quality is okay. But unit does not communicate well with my TCL tv and every now and then it won’t connect and I will have to unplug the device and plug in device for it to work. This has been going on since I purchased it. I checked the firmware update and it was due for one, so I tried updating but it wouldn’t take the new firmware. Contacted TCL and they could do nothing for me as I waited beyond the 1 year warranty to voice my claim. (my fault) Anyway, Device is sound is alright when working, and I guess for the price point it’s worth it.

I've been really happy with my TCL smart TV, but I wanted to enhance the sound quality a bit. I didn't want to create a big home theater kind of thing, because the TV is in my den. So this TCL Alto+ was exactly what I needed. Something to make watching TV a little more engaging without too much expense, equipment or trouble. I didn't find the instructions very good, but with the help of someone at the TCL customer service line, I was up and running in no time. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

I originally purchased an LG soundbar to go with my 6 Series TCL TV. I quickly figured out that the addition of another remote was undesireable. I returned the LG soundbar, and purchased this one. This soundbar is not nearly as nice. The sound quality is not as good as the LG. There is far less control on this unit (bass/treble/woofer level) than on the LG. The only thing I gained was the ability to control the volume from a single remote. In the end, this is important enough for me to overlook the shortcomings of this soundbar, but only because I have an additional surround sound system attached for watching movies. TCL really needs to spend a little more time and look at what the competition is doing. It's (a little) better than the built in speakers in the TV, but that's about all. Bass Level - LG has independent level control, TCL does not (just 3 built in settings (Movie, Music, News). Treble Level - LG has independent level control, TCL does not (just 3 built in settings (Movie, Music, News). Subwoofer Level - LG has independent level control, TCL does not (just 3 built in settings (Movie, Music, News). Also, the overall quality (feel) of the components is much cheaper than the LG unit.
