Save your money, you are better off using the antenna that came with your receiver. This antenna did not improve the fm radio signal in my home at all.

Does nothing to improve FM reception - all I got was noise. I returned it to the store for a refund and now use the simple wire antenna that came with Yamaha receiver.

Returned unit. The reception was terrible when the unit was plugged in and no better than antenna that came with receiver when not plugged in to electrical outlet.

This great-looking gadget had no effect where I wanted to get FM reception. Maybe it will work for others.

Live 9 miles from Fort Collins, Colorado and received little clarity in am or fm reception. Not a reliable antenna in my area.

This antenna does not work as advertised. I have had plain wire antenna's that provide far better reception than this product.

I live in northern NY near Canadian boarder. Just about all FM comes from there and distances can be 50-70 miles from me. I hooked this up to a Sony STDRH 130 receiver I bought at the same time and was amazed at the number of "new" channels I got over my old analog receiver. Easy to hook up.

Not to be the terd in the punchbowl, but this antenna actually worked for me. I bought it yesterday for my old sony receiver and it works fine. Had I read the reviews before I probably wouldn't have bought it. Install is simple, it has an external power source to boost power and a dial on the back. At first it didnt work at all, but after I turned the dial I was able to pick up every station I wanted. Very clear reception. Definitely one NEGATIVE is the length of cord. You only get about 4.5 ft at best. The box says it works best if placed by a window. It also says that using a tv, vcr, dvd, etc at the same time may affect reception, but last night it worked fine with all my gadgets on at the same time. I have mine on a shelf in my armoire behind some picture frames. Overall good for the money. If you need a long antenna though dont' get this one.

Easy to set up. Easy to understand instructions. Works well for me with my old Pioneer receiver. As with any antenna, all sorts of things can affect performance, but upstairs near the window, baseball comes in loud and clear.

I replaced a standard loop type non-amplified antenna with this powered unit. It may have helped FM reception a little, but A/M seemed no better that my old antenna. Our local basball broadcast is on 1090AM and the unit still picks up slight static as the A/M portion is non-amplified. If A/M reception is what you want to improve I would look elsewhere.

    Great Reception

I just purchased the Terk Powered AM/FM antenna with a bit of skepticism based on previous AM/FM antenna purchases. Those previous antenna’s never worked better than what came with the receiver or radio. I hooked up the Terk antenna to my Denon receiver and plugged it in to my power strip. As I suspected it made no difference, UNTIL I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! There is a “gain” adjustment knob on the back of the FM portion of the antenna. It was factory set at the lowest position. I turned the knob up; and, low and behold, the reception was exceptional! I would suggest to Terk that they should factory set the gain adjustment to its maximum setting rather than the minimum setting. This will insure that others, who do not read instructions, will not be disappointed and prevent them from returning the antenna. I definitely recommend the purchase of this Terk Powered AM/FM antenna.

We put a roof over our deck and our basement tuner no longer was able to pick up FM stations around 100-101. After installing this antenna, we were able to get perfect reception, much better than the stock antenna with no signal amplifier.

My experience has been very positive with the Terk antenna. Positive enough that I have two of them in my home for our whole-home stereo tuners.
