I haven't progressed too much in this game even though I've spend over 30 hours playing it. It is a big sand box game, similar to Mind Craft, and honestly, one can spend several hours in one small part of the massive landscape and build, destroy, fight, forge, etc. Some of the goals in this game seem a little abstract too me, if they exist and that is okay. This game is large and it feels casual, now that I've dabbled in a lot of what you can do in this game, I've been playing it here and there and I feel like I've made some decent progress. This game doesn't have a story that I am aware of. It's a side scrolling do-any-thing role playing game. For example, I spent a great deal building a space station by collecting rare building minerals from deep underground. This game also bridges over some crafting and survival elements. Not having a strong story pulls me out of the game a bit, but the overall game is very fun and though there are similar games, this one does offer a lot of innovative things. This game might also turn off those who don't want to play a vintage looking game. It's all pixels and plays like a really powerful Nintendo game. The 2D might turn some people off and if you're looking for a similar game but you don't like side scrolling or older games, Mind Craft might your calling. Also, I died a lot in this game. Way more than any other. I died more in this then I have in Rogue Legacy or Demon/Dark Souls. Craft or die, I guess.
I'm really glad there is a physical copy of this game. I love having tangible copies and for awhile this was only downloadable on other gaming platforms. This game offers four players locally and eight online.
I don't know if there is a demo on the Wii U, but I sampled this little indie treat on my PS3 and at first I was overwhelmed. But when I was away from it I would catch myself thinking about the game --how far I could push or manipulate things, what are the limits and I came back. This game is worth trying and even the demo is fun. This game also really utilizes the Wii U game pad.

When I first started Terraria I didn't really know much about it. It was on sale from the EShop so I got it on my 3DS. After starting and playing for 10 hours when it seemed like 2 I knew I had a winner. After doing some research I found the versions are slightly different where the 3DS is more like the mobile, and the WiiU more like the desktop. So I bought the WiiU version as well and I like it even better then the 3DS. It did take a while for me to switch to the different control style. I like it much better on the WiiU. Anyway this game works great with the touch screens. If you like games where you can build stuff you should like this game

Terraria will keep you busy for a while, with a randomly generated landscape each time you begin a new file. There are many types of enemies and weapons to find. If you're a fan of 2D action titles like Castlevania you'll enjoy the combat in Terraria. There are crafting elements here, too, to give the player more incentive to keep exploring and let you build forts. Terraria has more content on WiiU than the older versions from other consoles, and the WiiU Game Pad screen is a huge help in making the game feel intuitive to play.

I have Terraria on a few consoles but I would say that the Wii U is the better version. The gamepad is the right fit for the game and I thoroughly enjoy it.

I was bored and looking to change up my library a bit. Picked this up because it was a great price. I am really enjoying this game. You build up your skills and equipment, unlocking what seems like an endless list of possibilities. i recommend playing on your tv so you have a better field of vision. I don’t regret buying this at all.

Fun experience, enjoyable content. Would have been nice to have some of the newer PC content, but it's good.

Terraria harder to play on Wi U

I bought Terraria for the Wii U for my daughter because she loves the game. She has it for the XBox 360, the XBox One, & for the Nintendo 3DS. My daughter says that it is much harder to play Terraria on the Wii U. She says it is hard to manipulate it on the game pad, or the Wii nunchuck & Wii remote. I bought her a Wii pro controller in hopes to make it easier for her to play the game, but ended up taking that pro controller back because she could never get used to the buttons. She still loves Terraria but prefers to play it on her other game systems that she has the game on like XBox One.

Bought this for our 4 year old son, and he's been playing it non stop. It's lots on fun, and we haven't even scratched the surface. He's always asking me to play Minecraft with him but it never got me hooked like this game did.
