This film wasn't very popular upon release years ago but has gained a cult following over time. And with good reason,it's a good one,Sci-fi,comedy,not a bad story,it has a few things going on. Very nice steelbook release too!

Loved by so many, misunderstood by most. I fall into the latter. I would compare this to Repo Man mixed with John Dies. The cast is great and the first 20 minutes are solid, but once the character universe starts expanding, the film sides on the weird leaving any resemblance of a plot behind. Definitely the framework for Dirk Gently. Synopsis: Half Japanese, Half American, Surgeon, Physicist, Rock Star battles aliens to fight for his wife's twin sister. Almost goes full Battle Beyond the Stars. For the purchase, the steelbook is excellent and I cannot wait to dive into the ample bonus material.

Great mix of sci-fi, comedy, inter-dimensional fantasy, and action/adventure. Definitely not for everyone, but if you have a sense of humor and enjoy movies that don't take themselves too seriously, you might just get a real kick out of this one.

I have to say, as much as this film may be a cult and a multi-genred movie, the extras provide such great insight to what Buckaroo, and who he is and his universe. I highly recommend this edition for anyone who loves B.B.!

After seeing that Arrow Video came out with their release I'm happy that Shout has finally released this here in the US. The picture looks great and there's tons of bonus features, recommended for any fan!

I grew up a fan of Buckaroo Banzai! So when I had the chance to update my collection to Blueray I grabbed it quick! Great format! My VHS copy can rest now :) If your a fan you'll want this! Go for it!

Howdy Buckaroo...that was my first thoughts, and I was waiting for Roy and Dale to start singing. Not so fast this is a great move....and no it's not a 50's cowboy western. Must Watch.

An odd film film that grows on you. You learn to appreciate it for what it is, if you can get past the quirky premise. It's sort of fun to watch if you aren't trying too hard to figure out whats going on.

this film could only be made and exist in the 1980's (or the 8th dimension) Weller has chance to play and show he is was more than robocop. also check out Screamers from the 90's, a weller sci-fi classic.

What can I say? It's Bukkaroo Banzai? One of my favorite Peter Weller roles. A fun filled action packed movie for the entire family.

This film defies explanation and how it was ever made baffles me. It is cool in its own right. the Banzai Institute is the place to be. So glad to see this classic on Blu-ray finally.

Love this flick. Definitely ahead of its time. With a 2 hour documentary this is a sure buy. This is easily in my top 3 performances by Lithgow. "Laugh-a while you can, monkey-boy."

What can I say, if there is a cult favorite on Blu-ray and it comes in a Steelbook at a reasonable price, I MUST HAVE IT!!

What a strange movie. Totally and utterly filled to the brim with absurd 80s camp and cheese. Such an odd storyline to follow, but a must watch nonetheless.

I have always liked this movie and this Blu Ray looks great. Two commentaries on the Blu Ray and a couple decent extras on the DVD included.

I GREW UP IN L.A. WHEN THEY USED MY DADS WORK FOR THE FIGHT SCENE I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT REGARDLESS THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE NOW BETTER.

This is first release under the Shout Select banner and it has a very nice slipcover with new art and it is absolutely loaded with special features.

It's crazy, wacky, does it makes sense? Who cares...get it just for the end credits which are awesome!
