Having already owned this game in collector’s box for the 3DS since 2017, I finally played it 7 years later with this Switch HD remaster. Don’t know how I ignored this for so long (don’t play handheld games much). With the writer/director of Suikoden 1 & 2 as the scenario writer (Yoshitaka Murayama – RIP), along with some of the SaGa devs involved in the development of this game (& others), this game is an unforgettable gem, IMO. I own many SaGa games, but never played one, so this is my 1st SaGa-like experience I ever played through. However, I must say, leveling your characters in this SaGa like way actually feels better than some traditional leveling. I actually felt my party get stronger if I grinded a bit. Morevoer, I loved the story & characters. (Robbins!) I have nothing but praise for this game. Try it if you can grab it.

Good port of a fantastic, overlooked JRPG gem. The game itself is very good with the only thing keeping it from greatness being the overall easy difficulty level. There is some challenge with boss battles, but regular enemies are usually a breeze. Still, the combat system is fun to use and battles are relatively short, and can be avoided to some degree as enemies are visible on the screen at all times as opposed to randomly appearing. The story is good and main characters engaging. Character models have been spruced up nicely from the jagged low-res models of the 3DS original and are now very detailed and sharp, the higher resolution also benefitting the color palette (3DS version looked a little washed out). The overworld on the other hand, though nicer looking than on the 3DS, is still rather bland. The musical score is a standout and the compositions are excellent and have good variation. I would give this 5 stars if not for the relative lack of challenge

The Alliance Alive HD Remastered was compelling from start to finish.Two separate new game plus modes let you keep trucking, but there’s plenty of content. While you can blast through the main story in under 30 hours, this is the kind of game where fanatics might double their playtime.

This remastered edition is beautiful on the Nintendo Switch. Graphics are beautiful and clean and especially the soundtrack its so good. Well recommended!!!

If you're ever been interested in the SaGa series but the series difficult reputation scares you, give Alliance Alive a shot. It has many of the core features but in a much more palatable format, perfect for newcomers to the genre to get a grip on the systems.

now get to play the hd version wich is awesome game is slow in the beginning alil because of the story but it gets very involved fun rpg

Played this on the 3ds when it came out years ago and this remaster is even better. I mean you can’t even count the polygons and pixels in this version, that’s an improvement right?

I love playing this on my 3ds so when I seen that it was being ported to the Nintendo switch I just had to buy a copy

Never had the chance to own this on 3ds but now I have it for the switch and better graphics too

I used to play it on the Nintendo 3ds and now I can finally play it on the big screen! Very awesome rpg game.

Was a great RPG on the 3DS and it's nice to have a good port of it to play either handheld again or on a bigger screen.

Overall great game. I would recommend to anyone who’s an avid gamer especially those who enjoy RPGs.

Classic JRPG. It’s like Romancing Saga. Recommended for fans of old school JRPG fans.

Great j rpg it has a amazing story with unique characters

This game was okay, I got bored after about 10 hours. For a good jrpg, you need good music, especially good battle music because you're gonna be hearing that a lot, this game doesn't really have that. The characters all look very dry, the world map and cities all look very bland and copy paste. The story was decent for the first part however I completely got bored with the 2nd phase. Maybe I'll resume again someday when I have nothing else to play

This is a jrpg style of game with a weapon training where each weapon changes the way a character fights.

can't wait to try this one out after enjoying legend of legacy on 3ds
