Customers are saying

Customers highly value the engaging gameplay and portability of "The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+", frequently praising its replayability and extensive content. However, some players find the game's difficulty challenging and the controls require adjustment. While the unique art style and dark story are points of discussion, many appreciate the overall fun and engaging experience.

You don't need this review. You already know if you like this game & if you want it. Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ is a great addition to the Switch Line-up. If you don't have this game, This is a fine console to pick it up on besides PC if only for the Portability of it. Is it the best version? No, the PC Version has Mods & honestly is alot cheaper (Switch games have had a tendency to be more expensive than necessary but unless the developer bites the bullet, the customer suffers), but if you're fine the content the original unmodded game has to offer (which is already alot, let's be real) then I'd pick this up when you can!

I tried this on the PS4 about a year back and didn't fully understand why it's so popular. After buying a Switch, I decided to give it another go, hoping the portability would help. Boy did it! This is a really addictive little game. It appears small scale at first until you start unlocking items and delving deeper. There's a lot of replayability here as no playthrough is ever the same. Not worth it if you own the game elsewhere unless you need a portable option.

This is my 3rd or 4th time buying this game on a new platform. If you like the basic formula, you can easily play this game forever and still find new and interesting things going on in it. My main criticism of the game is the dead baby art style and themes. While all very well rendered and executed, they keep this from being a game I can play with many other people. They also add nothing to the experience for me. Other than that, Isaac is a winner.

My favorite game hands down. The replayability is unmatched. If you're a fan of extremely challenging games that are a different experience each play through this is the game for you.

I am enjoying this game, but I keep getting killed. :( That speaks more to my skill level than the game. I need to play more and the game is fun enough that I want to play more.

Can be brutal hard at first but once you start to unlock stronger characters and learn about the plethora of items the game gets quite addicting,Will take many hours seeing everything this game has to offer.

I've played this game on both the PSVita and PC version for hundreds of hours and going through this game again and having the option to play local multiplayer with my friends is a blast. As they have said in the description, this game offers thousands of hours of gameplay because this game is meant to be played over and over again as you unlock so much content within the game and no playthrough will ever be the same.

First and foremost, this is the third iteration I have purchased of this game. I played the original on PC, bought Afterbirth on the PS4 (and Vita) and I couldn't resist getting a hardcopy for the Switch. With the alternate art on the box, awesome manual and creep-tacular stickers, not to mention the hundreds of frustrating hours, this is one of my personal favorites that I can now fully experience portably!

This game is hard and doesn't make much sense from the first 10 times you die. But the more you play, the more you'll start to understand how to survive longer and go further. There are a bunch of stuff to unlock and the replay-ability is infinite. This game may be a bit old (even as the + version), it runs great on the Switch. I actually use the buttons to shoot rather than the right stick.

I've only played this game for maybe 30 minutes and will admit I have yet to return to the game since I've bought it. I honestly bought it since it came with an instructional booklet and figured it will be worth something more later. Yes, I am a fool. Back to the game. The graphics are nice for the game it is and the music is suprisingly catchy. I do need to play this game more. One last thing the co-op is fun, but unfortunately you share the lives from the main player so it is not true 2-4 player co-op. Just an FYI

I absolutely love this game, it's fun macabre theme and every villain is a riot. Killing things with the tears of a scared child never gets old. The game play is simple and fun and great when your looking for a quick play that won't take too much time or something a little more mindless. There's a mass variety of objects, items, and bad guys that make almost every play through different and exciting and holds a high replay value.

Having this game on the Switch is amazing. The ability to play Isaac just about anywhere only adds to my appreciation for this game. I have countless hours playing, and nearly every time there has been something new. Whether it's a different area, boss, or Isaac's appearance, I have enjoyed every minute of my ownership of this game. With the GCU discount it's an easy choice.

So if you don't know what BOI is it's a rougelike. What does this mean? It means that every time you die the game starts over and is different from the previous playthrough. It also means the end isn't really the end as there are additional end game levels not to mention tons of characters to unlock. It's hard but fun though the aestheticsand humor might be a bit polarizing it's still well done.

From flash to rebirth, PC to PS, I understand the PS vita version has to be toothless; and the Switch soothes the Isaac itch on public transit. A buttery smooth portable and complete Isaac was worth the Switch! The stickers are bad... Apollyon, and lilith? No Judas or Blue Baby? Give me Cain! Isaac holding Guppy, and Maggie are my favorite stickers.
