It's magic. It's The Hives times a million. It's raw powerful rock riffage. It's the best band. Ever. 14 blistering hot songs that will entertain anyone from senior citizens to toddles and infants. I will list a few songs and their descriptive aspects, but in reality, The Hives are Law, and You are crime my friend. So just do yourself a favour and buy the entire album. While you're at it, just buy all of their albums. It will change your life. The album uses more bass and new techniques that The Hives haven't used before to keep things fresh and interesting. It's longer, better, and more of this wonderful rock music that the world so desperately needs. 8. T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S.- A disco-esque melody that pays overwhelming tribute to The Hives. If you listen closely you will hear that the lyrics say "We rule the world." Enough Said. 9. Return The Favour- A classic Hives tune. Punk-Rock riffs with a new twist. Simple and honest. 12. You Dress Up for Armaggedon- A biting, satirical anthem with, once again, a simple, brutal guitar riff. A chart-topper for sure. Great chorus that gets you singing and all the Howlin' Pelle Almqvist you could want. 13. Puppet On A String- If you heard this song, it would be very hard to distinguish that it was a Hives song. Using a piano for instrumentals, the whole effect is very haunting. 14. Bigger Hole To Fill- Great, very catchy intro. It's unexpected and very tough sounding. It really makes you want to dance around, and then jump on your motorcycle. Then drive to a Hives concert.

If you haven't already bought The Hives new Black and White album then you are definitely depriving your hears, and should immediately add their album to your collection. The album is jam packed with songs that will have you up out of your seating dancing and singing along. The thing that I love best about their new album is that they were not afraid to take chances and experimented with different sounds. The album is not what I expected and that's a good thing. The Hives are able to make the transition from strictly rock n' roll/punk songs to a more eclectic style. All the while staying true to their rock roots and keeping their distinct sound that distinguishing them from other musical artists. There is definitely a strong blues and hip hop-esque influence on this album. I think most notably heard in the song Giddy up. For those of you who are not into the whole hip hop thing dont be scared away by my description. The Black and White album is definitely a rock n' roll album but influences by other genres of music can be heard. The Hives create their own, new, unique sound. Hey Little World and You Dress Up For Armageddon has more of an old school punk sound to me, which I really like. The album even includes a catchy anthem song- T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S. Buy the new album. If you dont, you are definitely missing out and depriving yourself.

The Black and White Album is what the world has been waiting for. No "Filler" songs here, just an excellant mix from start to finish. From the outstanding rhythum, to the infectious harmonies, this disc will keep you jumpin' and jivin' til the early morning. Classic, Rock 'n' Roll Songs with a Modern twist(like You Got It All...Wrong, Return The Favour, Square One Here I Come, Bigger Hole To Fill) keep the "old" Hives fans satisfied, while the rest of the album grabs a little influence from every generation around. A treat for all ears. Once you have listened to this, the rest is history..prepare to hear music in a whole new way.

The Hives have begun to experiment with their sound, and for some bands that would be the end...but for The Hives it is a new beginning. The Black and White album is everything you love about The Hives, they're still in your face, unapologetic punk rock..."You got it all..wrong" "Tick tick boom". But they're also showing that they can do things other than that and pull it off. "Puppet on a String" "t.h.e.h.i.v.e.s" and "Giddy Up" are perfect examples of that. If you've never heard The Hives, now is the time to find out what true, fun rock music is. Perfect album!

In addition to the pure punk that The Hives have been known for, there are different sounds and melodies in this album. Sounds that will BLOW your mind. This album contains actual genuine GOOD music (unlike the stuff that's out there nowadays). If you are craving for something phenomenal, tired of generic music about heartache and emoness, grab a copy of the Hives's latest album: The Black and White Album!

This group has a different sound. The first song I heard before I bought the CD was "Tick Tick Boom." I just found the vocals and music to be unique. There is a variety of styles involved in the CD tracks. They have reached mainstream in commercials-reached music fans who look forward to something fresh and I hope to hear them for a long time.

So much variety in this album. Once again the hives have impress us and left the fans wanting for more. I cant wait til they release some b-sides. This album has many catchy tunes that you can't get tired of. Pelle's voice is just fantastic and the music itself is so energetic. Thanks the hives... you sure made my day with this album.

This cd is probably one of the best ever! The lyrics in all of the songs are great. "Giddy Up" HAS to be my favorite because no one would expect that from them. Its very different. All the songs really, are different than anything they've done before. If you ever wonder"should i buy this cd?" the answer is YES! You wont regret it!

I love The Hives and this is an excellent new album full of new sounds that can make anyone happy. Each song has a different sound and yet they all seem to flow together so nicely. Go buy The Black and White Album!

I loved the hives's new album. It completely rocked my world. Thank the world for the Hives. This album doesn't only make you want to jump up and down on your bed, but satisfies your musical sweet tooth.

I loved this CD. Picked it up because I always wanted to try out their music. This CD stayed in my car for at least 2 weeks. Perfect rockin' album!

This cd is a great one, tick tick boom and won't be long are sweet rock songs! THE HIVES/Giddy Up are two awesoem hip hop type songs!

actually has danceable tracks on it but still kicks and takes name with that classic hives swagger. A few totally explosive tracks like Tick Tick Boom, You Dress Up for Armageddon and Try it Again. Bottom line is they push the envelope slightly with funky tracks like T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S. but for the most part still do what they do best.
