This movie has very unique animation. The story is great and not your usual storyline. The humor and music all blend in so perfectly to give that unique flavor of traditional festivities. We watched it twice...it was so amazing. Not enough was done to market this movie.

I wish I was able to have seen this in the theaters. The quality of this video is absolutely perfect. No flaws to be seen anywhere throughout. Colors are always sharp and vivid. Audio quality has a lot of depth. The 3D presentation is one of the best that I have ever seen. Lots of extras including a very informative directors commentary.

I'm an archaeology and anthropology professor and I quite enjoyed Book of Life. It is quite a visual feast. What I enjoyed just as much was the respect with which the filmmakers treated the inspirational material. I was afraid beforehand that the movie would be disrespectful of the indigenous and Mexican ideas it pulled from. It is quite the contrary, as instead, the film introduces those concepts in a way that makes them easily understood for viewers of all ages and shows the wisdom within those ideas.

This is absolutely terrific. The 3D is great (immersive more than intrusive), the animation is unique, and the colors...! The story's typical Kids 101 (Be true to yourself, etc.), but that's not a bad thing. But ultimately it's the visuals that make this movie. I know I'll watch it again--and I don't even have kids! Highly recommended.

Great movie to watch with the family. It has many funny parts that make you laugh and also teaches children about friendship and humbleness. Loved it!

I remember when this came out in theaters and wasn't that excited to see it. It was recommended by a few friends and when I saw the Blu-Ray on sale at Best Buy, I decided to pick it up. It is a great movie so if you were hesitant about the title/theme like I was, don' t make the mistake I did. My 4 year old agrees.

I loved this movie. Such a wonderful story and beautiful graphics. The music is great and adds so much to the story. The movie will make you laugh and maybe cry. It is more then a movie about the day of the dead. It is about love, family, friends and life. Everyone I took to see this movie walked out loving it, both young and old.

Usually i dont buy movies when they first come on but this one was a must have. The reviews where great and the movie really is. Great songs and animation keep the kids entertain with a little bit of adult humor hidden. Diego Luna is an amazing character and very funny. It portrays The Day of the Dead in a fun humoristic manner.

This got great reviews in the theater, but I wasn't sure if my kids would sit through it. When it came out on blu ray I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Good plot to engage the adults while the visuals while unusual are actually top notch. The kids enjoyed it and the music was a nice twist to the movie. Definitely recoomend

We love watching the Book of Life. It is family-friendly and beautifully animated with vibrant colors. It has a nice moral and characters to care about. The songs are beautiful. I wasn't expecting to like this movie so much, but my whole family loves it. We all stop what we are doing when it is playing and gather to watch it.

first thing first, this is not an Oscar worthy performance movie, but it is incredibly entertaining. I have watched this movie about 50 times with my kid (mainly because he is obsessed with it) but it doesn't get old. The essential message is great and the movie itself is heartwarming. Great fun for the entire family.

Love this movie it is so cute! Got it for my 8 year old daughter as a stocking stuffer. She has watched it at least 3 times a day since she got it! Definitely recommend buying it! The best part is that I could load he digital copy to her iPad which will come in handy on our long flight.

Am I supposed to review the movie or the movie disc? Bought this movie months ago for my little girl. Yesterday she asks me to watch it with her. Reluctantly I agreed. To my surprise it was really really good. Its animated, its set in Mexico, and it might make you cry. Thats what I heard!

A beautiful film put together by one of our great directors working today, Guillermo Del Toro. I loved all the wonderful imagery and nods to Mexican folklore and pseudo-religion. Very kid appropriate and any "deaths" in the film are definitely not graphic, most of them happen off screen as the story and scenery shift from the living world to the land of the dead. A nice touch is that all the characters are rendered in an artistic style as if they were wooden dolls.

Enjoyed the feature thoroughly and my children were glued to their seats. It was very entertaining and very unique. Not only in the animation, but also in the delivery of the colours and the richness and depth of the art work.The story was very different in a very good way and it kept me intrigued the whole time.

I was initially unsure about this movie...but within a few minutes I was laughing more than kids were! It was still interesting to them, but they didn't get the musical references and jokes that were a little "over their head". Nothing too crude or anything inappropriate...just a good clean movie for the family!

We really enjoyed this movie in theaters and now on DVD. There were plenty of scenes that made me laugh a lot, especially the songs. If you're around your thirties or so, you'll likely recognize a lot of the songs. There were just a couple of jokes that I would say are aimed more at adults, but the film overall is pretty entertaining for the entire family. Also fun to watch it over with the Spanish dub if you get the DVD. I highly recommend this awesome movie.

Very cool movie. This came out before Coco, which has a similar concept, but a completely different story line. The songs they cover in this movie reminiscent of 90's alternative, but a different execution. My child loves this movie, as well as my wife and I.

Animation and story line was amazing. Awesome love story about growing up and falling in love with your child hood crush after running into them after many years. Shows the strength and depths a person will go to protect and care for the person they love even if it results in death. I love this movie.

If you are interested in the whole "Dia De Los Muertos" (Day Of The Dead) art, this movie is for you. Not only does it shows in great detail and quality the concept of this Mexican ancient celebration, Del Toro also brings a great story. Loved the story, characters and lesson. Great bundle and Great Price.
