I don't think it lives up the original Frankenstein movie.

Like The Godfather Part II & Aliens, this is a rare case of a sequel being better than its predecessor. The Monster (Boris Karloff again) survived the climatic fire at the end of the first film. As his creator Henry (Colin Clive) recovers at home, his former mentor Dr. Pretorious (Ernest Thesiger) petitions him to take his triumph further by making a female creature. At the same time, the Monster is roaming the countryside evading the lynch mobs when he comes upon a blind man who teaches him to speak. Eventually these two story threads come together wonderfully with the creation of the title character (Elsa Lanchester, who also plays Mary Shelley in the film's charming prologue).

BRIDE is one of the greatest examples of mid-30's filmmaking and the presents the horror fantasy genre at its best. The camera work and music score are astounding and the cast is superb, especially Karloff in a truly Oscar worthy performance. An critical selection for any serious film collection. Own it on blu-ray and on Ultra-Violet!

But that's just my opinion, you have to purchase this to judge for yourself. I never listen to reviews, I only care about what I think.
