  • Standard MMO in Elder Scrolls Clothing

    This is definitely NOT a "must own" game for Elder Scrolls fans. Yes, it's set in that universe, on that world & does take place throughout all the continent of Tamriel...assuming you shell out roughly $20 to $40 per for each and every single expansion...and there are eleven other expansions besides Summerset...and they're not done with those yet. There are still at least two to three more areas of land to get the entire continent unlocked, plus whatever other DLC they choose to add that are in the same category as the currently available Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood. However, it lacks the feel of a true Elder Scrolls game, doesn't play like one either, can be tremendously frustrating trying to complete quests where you're outnumbered 4 to 1 in fights that you cannot escape from even though they did fundamentally change the game so that enemies level with you throughout the map, and is, as another reviewer pointed out, nothing more than a standard MMORPG with an Elder Scrolls coat of paint. Unless you simply have to have all things Elder Scrolls or you're just a big fan of MMOs, I'd steer clear. Actually, the free to play Dungeons & Dragons game, Neverwinter, in my opinion, is more fun and a better game overall which is sad really, as I'm a huge Elder Scrolls fan.
