Floyd fans will travel back in time

This is album is definitely worthwhile to own for most Pink Floyd fans. Let's just get this out up front. It is a new album, but the recordings are based around 20 year old sessions from The Division Bell era. Also, there is only one track with vocals, so this is mostly a instrumental album. But some of the best Pink Floyd music was, so it's great. There are tones that bring you back to Wish You Were Here and drums harkening back to the Ummagumma days. They have not forgot how to be psychedelic here. Plenty of Gilmour guitar to satisfy any Gilmour fan like myself. And basically the are 4 pieces of music broken down into multiple parts, very much like the 70's prog rock scene. Of course, here are tones of the Division Bell since much of the music was produced then when Rick Wright was still with us. Along the way you get some Meddle and The Wall feelings so it really feels like Floyd. It's a bit loose and sounds like a jam session in a couple of areas, which is probably what Floyd fans haven't heard since the 70's. No Roger Waters on this one, so don't expect a reunion. Definitely grab if your a fan of the early 70's Floyd and even if not familiar with the early recordings, I think most true Pink Floyd fans will be able enjoy this one.

    I hear Ghosts everywhere...

I am listening to this now and this is very old-school Floyd. There are ghosts of many songs from albums going way back through their entire catalogue. Only Pink Floyd could have done this without words. This last iteration from Floyd is very experimental. Exactly how they started. This is more like Ummagumma than any other piece of work so if you want something more commercial you should probably listen to someone else's copy before you spend your money. Endless River is a very enchanting and friendly haunted house of music with the chief spirit of ethereal sound being Rick Wright floating through your ears with a smile on his face :)

Mellow and trippy. Floyd's final album is a wonderful tribute to late keyboardist Richard Wright.
