This game is pretty creepy. The controls seemed a little labored. Once you get the hang of it, it can be a fun game. I am a fan of the Resodent Evil games so I gave this game a try. I enjoy the characters from RE more because they have more personality. This game's character development wasn't really there. But that's alright, I guess. My goal was to be creeped out anyway.

This comes from the director of Resident Evil 4, but this isn't a RE ripoff. It actually has its own identity within the survival horror genre. This is one of those games that you must play in the dark to get the full experience. This game has some greatly disturbing visuals, concepts, gore, and violence. Tuck the kids in before playing this game or prepare for the consequences of nightmares of having them sleep in your bed. The game does suffer from wall clipping and other glitches that take you out of the experience however this shouldn't detract you from playing and experience this game. There's a lot of clichés and typical gameplay of what you'd expect in this genre, and the story is lacking in some places but most of us don't play this for the story but for the experience.

Definitely a good enjoyable game, I feel like it is a mix of Silent Hill vibe, with Resident Evil mechanics, and Metal Gear Solid type of tactical. The story is complicated but told so that is easy to understand. Very unique game, with a lot of violence (if you like gory this game is for you) and peculiar creativity.

The Evil Within is a case of mission accomplished, but there are some casualties. The game is challenging and has a creepy feel to it, but the voice acting is bad, some locations just don't seem right, and the story loses its strength along the way.

This is quite a scary survival horror game. You don't start out with many supplies and the enemies can kill you quite easily it's best to stealth kill them and conserve ammo. Overall I enjoyed the game and liked the scary theme of it and the challenge of the game!

The evil within for playstation 4 had amazing graphics and real life characters. I would highly recommend this games to gamers who like Resident Evil. I beat the game but it took longer than most games to beat because it's a puzzle!

The history of the game is somewhat confusing but not that bad. I finished the game and yes, I would recommend buying it. When you run the game for the first time it looks a little dark and very grainy, but you can adjust that on the graphics option (grain level). I didn't like the controls that much, I kept accidentally pushing (R3) and would always bring up the menu in the middle of a battle! I didn't like the black bars they added to the game either. Love the graphics, Bosses, Zombies and I enjoyed every single chapter.

The main reason I bought the ps4 was only so I could play Outlast, an amazing survival horror game. Just like Outlast, I have been trailing after Evil Within since it was revealed a while ago, seeking the similar experience as Silent Hill. While playing the game there is a sense of helplessness, stuck in a place where evil is inevitable. While the game does a great job making you scared, there is nothing that makes it feel organic for me. I had hoped that the game would be visually realistic that it felt like I was really there. Of course, the game made no promises of this, but it was something I hoped for, like it did in Outlast. Instead, while playing, the graphics consistently remind me it's just a video game, like I was playing an old Sega game as a child. The few things that bothered me in this game is how it doesn't show off the ps4 console. While I play the game, it feels like I'm playing it on ps3 since there are some invisible walls and the graphics are sometimes horrible. However, I could live with it, the gritty graphics and others were part of the director's vision of the game. The only thing I hate is the bars at the top and bottom of the screen during the whole game. The trailers did not give us indication that this was part of the game nor does it show them in the screenshots, what I'm saying is that we should have been informed before we bought it or at least give us the option like it does on PC. Again, this was part of the directors vision, so I can't get overly mad, even though they should have told us ahead of time. People claim that the bars give us a wider vision, which is partially true. All it really does for me is give me a neck ache since my neck is constantly extended while naturally fighting to try to see what's above that top bar since our vision is limited by it. Regardless, there will always be fighting about these bars since most people want the traditional viewing of video games. I only wrote this review to make sure everyone knew what they are buying. Out of everything I wrote, I still recommend it. It is fun and sometimes disturbingly cunning.

Enter a world of madness, death and extreme bouts of combat. The Evil Within is everything you could ask for in a survival horror game. Enemies are unforgiving if left unchecked. Environments are absolutely terrifying. And the freedom to tackle any combat situation with a plethora of weaponry makes this game one of my favorite horror games to date. While it's no Silent Hill 2, there are indeed genuine moments of fear as you proceed down a dark hallway, two bullets left in your handgun and your health bar flashing a painful warning to find some reprieve. Only to stumble into the waiting arms of a very angry monster who wants nothing more but to take your life. Overall, definitely worth a look. Decent play time makes this a keeper.
