There aren't too many horror games available for the current generation of consoles. This one is definitely worth playing. Fun combat, great graphics. Great game for fans of Resident Evil 4.

I feel like the horror game genre has really been lacking as of late. This game really gave me a refreshing feeling, because it was both super scary and super fun. Highly recommended.

Let me begin by admitting that I only played the first two-thirds of this game because of my criticisms below. So if some of my complaints about this game would have been alleviated had I played the game to the end then other reviewers can make that known. My first complaint about this game is that it is not scary, which is a huge problem for a survival horror game. Yes, the sets are well crafted and moody, and yes the creatures are interesting, and yes there are moments of tension, but not once during the first two thirds was I ever scared like I was when playing the first Dead Space, the first two Resident Evil games, and Alien: Isolation (which in my opinion is a superior horror game). Whatever the formula is for making a game truly scary, this game doesn't have it. It seems to have the right pieces but they never coalesce into a satisfying whole. That's not to say the game is boring for there are some noteworthy encounters with some horrific creatures; but these moments cause tension, not scares. In addition, the story in this game is a jumbled mess. Not one time did I ever understand what the heck was going on in the game. I'll again add that perhaps the story would have come together had I played to the end, but given that other reviewers here have also complained about the story I doubt I would have been satisfied. While the story is basically non-existent, the characters are laughably bad. There is no character development to speak of, the dialogue ranges from passable to atrocious, and the voice acting is subpar. All of these things combined made for a truly disappointing survival horror experience. If you want a game that will truly scare you and pull you into its world of horror, then I recommend checking out Alien: Isolation. While that game is not above criticism, it definitely accomplishes its goal in scaring the player. As for The Evil Within, the best recommendation I can give is to rent it, play it for a day, and see if you agree with my criticisms in that one playthrough.

Truly enjoyed Evil Within. Great jumping moments when playing. Story line was ok but game was fun! Very difficult and can not go in guns blazing.. You have to conserve ammo.

Bought this for my son. He said it jumped him right from the start. He found it enjoyable.

Pretty challenging game that kept my interest through out the whole game. I enjoyed the different characters that were brought in and the different places you had to go threw. I didn't like the reaction time of my character, seemed like responded a little slow but over all fun game. I like that it was a game that wasn't over in a couple of hours, there was some longevity and felt like I got my monies worth.

This game is pretty good. It had quite a few intense moments which were pretty exciting.

Great survival horror game from the man that brought us Resident Evil 4. Violent, scary, and really, really fun. Highly recommended for fans of the survival horror genre.

Have not completed the game yet but so far you can tell this game is from the original creators of the resident evil series.a bit frustrating at times and at first I thought a could play stealth or go in guns blazin,but the game seems to want the player to go in all stealth.patience is your best weapon for this game.

Great game, Its in widescreen so that was a bummer. I like it though, so so hard.
