It's hard to imagine anyone who knows nothing about this movie, and would require a review to determine if he should watch it. That said, let me say that this is one of those MUST SEE movies, if you consider yourself a fan of horror, thrillers. It's simple yet brilliant, the special effects are primitive compared with the CG masterpieces possible today, BUT you won't find anything that roots you to the couch, eyes unmoving from the screen the way this one does. The little girl changes from a, well, little girl, to a horrifying image of a demon, you can practically feel the chill in the air and the dank smell of the room. Anyone with a modicum of imagination will be scared and it's a fabulously enjoyable scare. MUST SEE.

I've seen The Exorcist many times via a number of different mediums, but this viewing experience was by far the best yet! The Blu-ray quality was amazing...I'm sure I must have said so aloud at least ten times while watching, but I just couldn't believe how great it looked. The first time I saw this film I was still in single digits and had waited for my folks to fall asleep, having been instructed NOT to watch it. Well, I did anyway and it was worth the nightmares! If you love this film as much as I do, you owe it to yourself to pick up this version. Great movie, excellent presentation, a nice little book and an affordable price make this one a must. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Was super hyped to pick this one up and add it to my collection. Amazing steelbook for an amazing movie!

My only complaint is the missing theatrical cut. Other than that, it's perfect for steelbook collectors.

Excited to see new slipcovers on these classics. I didn’t own it, so I’m glad these were re-released!

I saw William Blatty’s “The Exorcist” (1973) when it was newly released and I must say that it still carries a punch. It must be one of the creepiest movies ever made. I love the subtle nuances, often missed by those watching it for the first time, e.g., Regan’s walking backwards down a flight of stairs or the subliminal split-second images of demonic statues. But regarding the alleged subliminal images Blatty himself says that, if you can see it, it’s not subliminal. And I love the throaty, Satanic voice of Mercedes McCambridge.

Love this movie so much! I have it on VHS, DVD, Blue Ray and now on a Steelbook case!

This is a must own for all horror fans. It started a lot of modern horror trends.

This is a very pretty steelbook that’s worth owning if you are a fan of horror

Well, this movie still creeps me out to this very day. Not so much the special effects that although at the time were state of the art, but more the concept of something like this having to be dealt with by a young child and their family. It gives the viewer the thought of what if this really happened to me or someone I know? Well directed, well acted, good tone and pacing, music is great too. Also, this blu-ray has some very good bonus stuff that I had not come across before. If your gonna buy it, get this version.

Excited to rewatch after getting this for Christmas, it holds up. An all-time classic that will scare you while making you empathize. Not going to get into the deep text of the film here, read professional analysis and critique for that but this is the movie that made horror aim its highest in terms of box office and critical appraisal. Quite a bar and this steelbook package is a great addition to my physical media collection.

Classic movie with a really nice steel cover. Never owned the movie, but the cover made me really want to add to my collection. Movie is great in Hi-definition watched it through once and I believe it only is the remastered version of the film (I could be mistaken). For some people that may be a problem if they prefer the original film without the added scenes. Still a top notch classic horror film.

Ya, still gets you right where it counts, even after all these years. There are certain cinematic treasures that have true suspense and terror that grasp you to the core when you least expect it and in the most basic manner. This is one such film. The sheer experience of what happens to this poor girl and those involved is just gripping and yet so terrifying you just don't know what to do... Not for kiddies, but a must see if on a date for a guaranteed jump in your lap, boy or girl, it will get you both...lol.

This is my seventh DVD copy of the movie. I've bought every version that's been released from the first original release back in 1998, the Director's Cut, the anthology, 25th anniversary, both Blu-Ray versions, etc. Next to the 25th Anniversary box set, this Blu-Ray is the next best with a booklet by William Friedkin included. If you're a collector of "The Exorcist" items, this is a must have. If you've considered buying the movie but never have, this is the one.
