Wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out to be a very good movie

Our family enjoyed watching this movie and received it as a gift.

The family stone is a heart felt movie of a family gathering at Christmas time. It shows some of the issues family can go through when their lives come together. I enjoyed this movie, but you will need to have a tissue because it is a rather sad movie. Other movies along the same line i would recommend are Home by Christmas , Christmas Shoes, Terms of Endearment, and Love Story

This is what I call an "old person's comedy", based on the cast, plot, & quality, but I don,t mean that as a slight. (I'm close to "old" myself). In this genre, it's pretty good.

Excellent Christmas story that has lots of laughs but is also heart-warming. Unlike so many comedies, it is not focused on sex and vulgarity. It is a movie I consider probably one of the best Christmas movies -up there with Love Actually but without the sex.

This dramedy about a dysfunctional upper middle class family is a Christmas movie that should resonate with everyone. Wonderful performances by a stellar ensemble cast make it a delight to watch from beginning to end. Like any true family holiday gathering, you'll laugh one minute and sob the next. The digital transfer is clean in its standard definition Widescreen 480p and the DVD offers nothing extra. But let's face it, the movie is what matters.

Enjoyed the movie and will probably watch every year

Middle of the road Christmas movie. Not bad if you already watched all the classics.

This was a tough one. In the beginning Everette brings his girlfriend Meredith, to his parent’s home to spend Christmas with his family. While Meredith is definitely high maintenance, and somewhat narcissistic, the family isn’t very nice to her. The word “bully”, comes to mind. I found it a bit difficult to watch. In fact, at one point I turned it off, determined not to finish it. But after ten minutes, I forced myself to continue, and I’m glad I did. It does get a bit political at one point, but it doesn’t last long. Eventually, things become softer, and the love the family has for each other emerges. The underlying issues that are being faced, are dealt with, and the strained relationships become much less strained. And while I don’t want to give anything away, the film ends on a bit of a somber note. At first, I was going to give it one star, but after finishing the film, I gave it three. I’m glad I watched the entire film, but I doubt I will ever watch it again.

This is an older movie that I purchased from Bestbuy.com. the movie is very good movie about a family and the interactions between the family and the sibling segificant others and dealing with the family dynamics. On a different note using bestbuy.com my movie came very quick sooner than expected. I will use them again.

Good movie showing the extents that family will go to for each other.

great cast, good dialogue, humorous, reminds me of a family I know

The Family Stone is one of those movies that I can watch over & over again, which is why I purchased the dvd. Of course, it has solid acting - just look at the casting list. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry. It has a little bit of something for everyone!

Love this movie, and the cast does a great job portraying their characters. Great chemistry with such a large cast with different personalities . Shows the trials and tribulations between parents, siblings and siblings significant others.

Great movie. Full of big name stars. Lot's of funny outtakes and a few serious ones that we all face at some point in time. We watch this movie every year around Christmas time.

This was a funny, moving film, striking the same chords as Home For The Holidays, portraying strong family ties and hilarious scenarios that challenge but cannot break them. Alternately makes the viewer laugh and cry at times

Terrific movie. Great acting all around. Funny, serious, and sad. You won't be disappointed. Reminds me of my family growing up, from the house, to the big family and agreements and disappointments.

The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the movie jumps while playing. Now I am looking into cleaning my player to see if that's the problem. If that's not the issue then it looks like I have to return it for a new movie or get a now dvd player.

Family Stone is a movie filled with love, humor, sadness and the struggles that families go through. It is a wonderful Christmas story that we will watch every year during the holidays.

I got this movie to replace the one I had and loaned out and never got back. I love this movie, it has twists that you don't expect. If you like comedy then you'll like this movie!
