Although this movie is a remake it doesn't seem to follow the older ones, this one is intense, a bit scary & takes you into the fog for the answers of the past.

My wife and I just watched this and we enjoyed it. It was comparable to the first one, (John Carpenter saw to that.) The acting wasn't very good though, the movie was rather slow, and the ending was pretty lame. I'm a fan of remakes, but this one could've been better. I still recommend it, because the sound and special effects were good and there's some good creepy scenes. If you want a good remake, some I recommend are Halloween 1 & 2, Last House on the Left, Black X-mas, Friday the 13th, and My Bloody Valentine 3D.

this is a wannabe horror/thriller movie. It's kind of a ripoff of the stephen king book and at the same time, pirates of the carribean.

Like other recent remakes, this one is basically a regurgitation for the MTV age, hence the casting of Smallville's Superman (Tom Welling) as the male lead.
Although an intriguing casting choice, Selma Blair fails to bring the zing that Adrienne Barbeau brought to the original.
The CGI here continues the downfall of the form which began with Jar Jar. The ending, likewise, is unbelievably dumb.

Do yourself a favor and watch the original. John Carpenter's the Fog blows this pathetic film away. Even the music is a disappointment.
