This release is more laid back than what you would expect. Its nice to hear them try to grow in another direction but this doesn't have the punch of there other material.

Good album, but not their best.

This is a good album. It has some good grooves and bass lines, but it's definitely not their best album. Songs are slower, not as many rockers as in previous efforts.

Man do I sure miss John Frusantine. The Peppers need their creative energy back with John on guitar. There some decent songs on here but not collective group.

As a RHCP fan I was really looking forward to the new album....but it doesn't blow me away like the last two. It's good but not up to their standard.

The first 4 tracks of the album built excitement for another awesome RHCP album but I was seriously disappointed in the remaining tracks.

The change in producers is a welcome step in the right direction, but only a little less boring than the last few boring efforts.

Handful of good songs and they go into new directions with this album which is exciting, but it seems to lack energy

There's some really catchy tunes on here and a couple duds. All in all though it's a solid album.

They're cruising on this one

I've only listened to this album twice (back-to-back) since I got it a few weeks ago. In my opinion, RHCP is cruising in their old age, even with a younger guitarist, who feels hampered by most of the songs on the album. "Dark Necessities" is the stand-out song on here, and I would've liked more songs like it. Not one I plan on listening to regularly.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are iconic and have had some of the best albums ever. This album has a great single but the rest of the album just doesn't have that funky magic that we're use to. I had a very difficult time listening to the album all the way through without getting bored. Just download the singles you like and save some money.
