I definitely recommend this movie to everyone ... actually ... I love it so much, I ordered the book box set so we could read on and not wait for the other movies to come out. Very interesting movie and can't wait to see the others!

This movie is based off the book of the same name. They did a good job showing the supposed perfection of this dystopian future while slowly opening your eyes to what's wrong with it. No emotion, no religion, no wars...no freedom.

Bought one each for my daughters for Christmas. They read The Giver many years ago in school and thought a great gift. Movie is excellent. Stayed true to the book but condensed a little more as is usual with movies based on books.

This was an interesting movie. It was thought provoking. It disturbed me that, as far as the Movieline was concerned, the citizens were not very diverse. Nevertheless I enjoyed it. It gave a lot of food for thought.

At first I thought 75 inches would be too big but after the installation I was so happy. It has a wonderful picture and we are very pleased! The installation process from the Geek Squad was excellent also!

I really enjoyed this movie! Just enough action, great characters, acting etc. Loved it at the theater and loved it at home on blu ray!! I not an avid book reader but now I look forward to reading the book!

The movie stayed as true as possible to the book. It made me want to read the book again just to double check. It would make a good treat for students who just read the book to create discussion points.

If you've ever read the book, it is nice to have a visual experience as well. The actors played their parts very well, and the movie is touching and meaningful, just like I remember the book being.

This is a decent film, but for those who love the novel, it may be a little disappointing. If you can separate yourself from the novel though, it's definitely worth a watch.

A riveting movie that will inspire anyone, and reinspire those who have previously read the books. A few things were off (the usual with book-to-screen flicks), but it was a great movie overall!

I read this book in middle school (years ago) and was thrilled to see they finally made a movie. This movie does not disappoint and helps create a visual to go along with such a wonderful book!

this movie is seriously awesome. I read the book when I was younger and fell in love. I was so happy to find out it was a movie! They did a great job on it and blueray has some great features

I was cautious about watching this movie, but my worry was for nothing. This movie is unique and really caught my attention. I loved it, and I would watch it again!

Jeff Bridges is the giver also has Maryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Brenton Thwaites, They live in a society where their memories are entrusted to the giver who will explain things to Jonas.

If you like sci fi this one takes a unique perspective and still has suspense action and intrigue. Some very big names in it as well. Overall watch & enjoy a good adaptation of the book.

The actors were great and the movie was well done. It makes you wonder it this may be the future for the upcoming generations where fear of hunger and disease no longer exist.

I went to the movie without knowing anything about it and I came out emotional and glad to have seen it. Very good story line and a wow ending. Makes you think about things!

We enjoyed this more than we expected. Superior video and audio, a small but nice selection of extras. Definitely worth adding to your collection.

In the last few years we have seen many movies on experiments in societies concept of mind control. This one was interesting since the juvenile book was written in 1993.
