This is a Dino-mite movie and the Blu-ray came with one blu-ray disc, one DVD disc and a digital copy for use on DMA or any other digital format. i.e. like Vudu, iTunes, GooglePlay, Amazon or Microsoft. I received 150 DMR points on the the DMR site for this combo pack. My copy also came with a nice slip cove with embossed lettering and artwork Bonus extra on the disc and on the DMA site. Digital code also works direct with out having to use the Disney site if you are not a disney movie anywhere member.

I missed this film in the theaters, which is rare for me as I love Pixar films, but hey, you know life. Anyway, when the 3D BLURAY came out I knew I would buy it site unseen. The film really grabbed me and held tight. It looks beautiful and there is a wonderful story filled with emotionality. I loved the message and the characters. The Special Features on this one were a little less exciting, but the film makes up for that. I would recommend this film to kids and adults alike.

This is another Disney Pixar great that will keep the kids riveted in their seats. Its full of teaching events in love and trust even if your different and don't talk the same language. This Young Dinosaur runs into a very rough around the edges little boy who become good friends. Its a great movie as you watch how they build their trust in each other and learn how to communicate. This is a good one for every age kid from 3 years old to 90!

I bought this movie because it was recommended to me by my brother and I totally agree that it is a great movie for all ages. I work at a school and on a rainy day I took it for them to watch since they couldn't play outside and they loved it and were so excited even though some kids said they already owned it LOL! Even the older kids were excited! Definitely recommend this movie for children and anyone that is young at heart and still loves a good cartoon movie!

Lesser Pixar, which is Still Pretty Solid

Like all Disney and Pixar films, The Good Dinosaur pulls at the heartstrings by chronicling the change of innocence into experience, of a child into an adult, and of those premature ideals into broader perceptions. Like most Disney and Pixar collaborations The Good Dinosaur also features a duo on a journey to both save/rescue someone or something while discovering things about themselves and the world they exist in along the way. Sure, there is more to each of these stories that have given the studio partnership a reputation of not just crafting animated movies for children, but for their parents and adults alike. These core ideas and themes are what Pixar tends to stick with, though. With their latest, the studio twists things around by essentially re-writing history and then pulling a role reversal meant to engage the mature minds while utilizing the popularity of dinosaurs to get the attention of young kids. This works for the most part as the premise is just as engaging as Pixar's previous release this year, Inside Out. While such a statement might make some wince given the personified emotions of that film allow it to go to some pretty heavy places for a "children's movie" the idea of mingling in what the world might be like today if a massive extinction hadn't taken place millions of years ago is just as tantalizing as being able to create some kind of organizational system within our own minds. Unfortunately, The Good Dinosaur doesn't do as much with it's promising premise as Inside Out did (though that one didn't do as much as I would have liked, either) it is does mix some interesting genre aspects and narratively creative ideas into it's proceedings often enough that it manages to be nothing short of an entertaining family film. While the film does indeed share many similarities to Pixar's previous offerings in terms of what makes them so effective what is more striking is the kinship it seems to share with the earlier, hand-drawn animated films of the Walt Disney company. Through this affinity for those that have come before it, The Good Dinosaur, while not being innovative or weighty on it's own terms, is a nice reminder of the power of a simple story told through beautiful imagery.

This was a surprisingly good movie for being the second Pixar film in a year. While I did find a couple of scenes sad and one somewhat disturbing, this otherwise was such a fantastic film. Slightly different than Pixars usual format and story, it was a pleasant viewing experience both visually and story driven. Some of the graphics were absolutely amazing in 3D as well as on the regular Blu Ray. In short watch this movie. You won't be disappointed. 4.5/5*

The Good Dinosaur is a sometimes subtle advocate for understanding among individuals. The fanciful premise leads to a beautiful conclusion. Even my three-year-old granddaughter understood the importance of family to the two main characters and celebrated when one of them discovers that he is not alone any longer. Even the T-Rex cowboys and cowgirl didn't scare her although I did watch carefully. Among the "extras," the "Little Sunjay" story did scare her a bit.

After seeing Disney's INSIDE OUT (an A+ film) only a few weeks prior to seeing The Good Dinosaur, I expected this film to achieve Disney's usual outstanding overall rating. The animation quality was truly outstanding. I liked the story (which is the most important thing), and I really wanted to see this movie. After seeing it, I was very glad that I bought the DVD and viewed it at home, instead of paying much more to have seen it at the theater. Overall, The Good Dinosaur is better than most animated movies, but not as good as DISNEY's films usually are. If you haven't seen INSIDE OUT (DIsney), then go buy that movie instead of this one.

This movie continued a nearly perfect run of fun and good for the family movies from Pixar. It seemed a bit overlooked on its theatrical run, but I found it to be something of a hidden gem. A nicely entertaining story with some good lessons mixed among its cute characters. The BluRay looks beautiful, technically well-done as ever. Special Features are pretty good, a mix of some interesting behind the scenes programs and some truly kid-oriented fare.

My family saw this in the theater. I was so surprised that this movie was so good. I decided to get the 3d bundle. The quality of the transfer is superb. The audio is fantastic. The story line has its few emotional moments, but that is what life is all about. I told my 6 yr old daughter that life is sometimes tough and you have to fight it to survive. The movie has full of little messages and it is overall very positive. We enjoyed it very much.

What a truly honest, stunning film. My wife and I were blown away... Oh and the kids loved it too :). The graphics are astounding and the story is a real no fluff story that doesn't pull any punches. I found the message to be something worthwhile and truthful. This films doesn't pander to stereotypes or social norms. I would recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys not only fun loving playful imagery and story but also a profound real message.

My son loves dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs. The movie's premise of what would happen if dinosaurs remained the dominant life form on Earth was more than enough to interest me, especially that it's spun into a family film. I think we've watched this twenty times together since it released on blu ray, and I'm sure there are many more viewings in our future. It's cute and has more than enough unexpected points to make it worth seeing at least once.

The Good Dinosaur is a story of a young kid/dinosaur trying to find his place in his family and the world. He goes on an unlikely adventure when he chases after his nemesis (baby boy) who is also lost and separated from his family. The end up forming an amazing bond and friendship as the try to find the way back home. The run into some very unique characters along the way. My daughter love's this movie and it is a great watch for all ages.

My daughters (ages 4 & 3) loved this movie. While this film is more geared towards a younger audience, parents will be delighted at this gem. I would like to add that I am so happy that Disney continues to release Pixar films on Blu-ray 3D, and have yet to find a real reason why Disney chose to halt Blu-ray 3D releases for Disney films, beginning with "Frozen" of all movies. Disney Blu-ray 3D never disappoints.

I now have a great-granddaughter who has discovered the world of movies, so I've been buying them up on a regular basis. I'd never heard of this, it sounded cute, so I watched it and fell in love with all the characters, especially, I think, Spot. I only wish that dinosaurs had continued to survive, and have a role in history like this one--dino families growing corn and being wonderful parents...just adorable.

The Good Dinosaur has a compelling story line, interesting characters, and a good dynamic interaction between the main characters. Since it was a Disney animated movie that starts with two living parents for the main character you can, as all too frequently, expect that one or both parents will die shortly after the movie begins. And so in this film, the main story line develops only after the hero's father dies in a flash flood. Other than this minor objection and the movie being somewhat scary in parts for small children, the movie was entertaining and a rewarding experience.

I have 3 kids, 6, almost 4 and 18 months. They all loved this movie and have watched it numerous times already. My wife and I enjoyed it too. Very cute and the animation was amazing. The surroundings looked so real we thought they were and just put the animated characters over the top. It's amazing what they can do with CGI these days. Great movie overall and I highly recommend it for people with young kids.

    Pixar Does It Again

The Good Dinosaur is exactly what fans of Pixar have come to love from the studio. The acting is great, the animation is amazing, the story is both funny and heart-wrenching, and the 3D looks terrific. A good, fun movie that both kids and adults alike will enjoy. The Good Dinosaur is definitely aimed more at the kids than adults; there's decidedly less grown up humor here than in other animated films. But the adults will appreciate the underlying themes of never giving up, pushing forward in the face of adversity, and sticking by your friends when things get tough.

It is not a baby movie there isnt a lot or may not be any musical sing along stuff but the story line is solid and enjoyable. I am sure plenty of people prefer this. I thought the dinosaur was good but my child was not very interested(2 yo) though in a year or two more I am sure he will like it much better. Usually he enjoys dancing around to the songs in movies. But soon he will be craving the action.

This was such an inventive movie. and the 3D was really good. I have 3 grandsons, 2 at 10 years of age and one at 13. They thoroughly enjoyed it as did I. What would happen if the meteor that hit earth and destroyed the dinosaur missed it instead? We move 150 million years from that day to this one and you will see. Dinosaur and man become friends in this playful, colorful, beautifully animated film.
