This is the pinnacle of Wes Anderson's film making career to date. The Grand Budapest Hotel combines all of the elements that make Wes Anderson's films so distinctive into a package that can be enjoyed by anyone. The film's plot has plenty of twists and turns to go along with the multiple layers that common for Anderson. While the film maintains the humor and sweetness of past films, there is an element of darkness that provides texture which makes everything much more compelling. The characters are as interesting as ever. Ralph Fiennes turns in the best performance out of any seen in an Anderson film, and that includes performances by Bill Murray and Gene Hackman. The supporting cast is as stellar as ever, especially the relative unknown Tony Revolori. This film is certainly deserving of all of the awards attention it has received in 2015. Even if you do not especially like Wes Anderson films, this is still a must see.
