John Hughes wrote this late 80s feature about a husband just trying to get some nice quality time with his family on a vacation to the woods. John Candy and Dan Aykroyd are paired together as bickering mates...and the rest is history as far as I'm concerned.

When i saw this classic was available on blu-ray i had to purchase it. The video has been cleaned up and looks great, it is a must have. A wonderful family movie.

It's wonderful to finally have The Great Outdoors on Blu-ray! The transfer looks great, much better than the DVD transfer from 100 years ago. 4 Stars only for being a barebones release. No special features whatsoever. Not even a commentary track.

I think most people have seen this its for John Candy fans I want to comment on the Blu-Ray.The picture quality is worth the upgrade not much done to the sound but overall I would recommend the purchase to a fan of the movie.
