After trying to find this cd,I stroll into best buy and it's right on the shelf,shoudve known they have an awesome music selection, and if it's not there, they can order it for you.

I bought this as a gift for my wife before we went to the show. She really liked knowing the songs beforehand, rather than trying to figure out what the actors were saying.

We listened to the sound track before going to see the play which helped us to understand what was about to transpire. Made for easy understanding.

Great mix tape with a variety of musical artists performing great songs.

if you love Hamilton this is a must have. Hours of listening.

There is the amazing soundtrak and then there's this the Hamilton mix tape is nothing short of the my brilliant homage to the groundbreaking force of nature that is HAMILTON. THERE ARE PRESENT HERE artist you may never have heard of Andra Day who belts out this painful lament with such style and power and pain you just may Just wish Alexander would burn for his foolish mistake point driven further along in the sarcastic ire of the talented lady Dell whose cover of "Congratulations" is anything but congratulatory or our hero and a triumph for our songtress. These ladies bring it holding there own with Queen Latifa and Asia who are anything but "HELPLESS" . Busta Ryhmes,Usher and the rest all deliver x10 on this great great great Albulm it's no John Trumball for sure

For any Hamilton lover this was a perfect companion album

I love Hamilton and had to get this. It's super fun for fans of both Hamilton and different styles of rap. Lin-Manuel Miranda clearly loves music and hip-hop. When I saw the names on each track I thought, "Oh, that's gonna be good." I was right each time. Highlights, Usher, Queen Latifah, Kelly Clarkson, and Alicia Keys. Also, Jimmy Fallon starts off singing for the laughs, but then switches seamlessly into a bonafide pop star performance. Sia is also as good as always with one of my favorite melodies of the play.

My daughter loves musicals. I hate them. My daughter loves Hamilton. So do I. Of course she had the original recording but when I was Christmas shopping and saw this I thought she might enjoy it. Turns out she already downloaded it as soon as it became available. I told her we could take it back and get something else, but she told me she likes to have hard copies of music she really likes and she was delighted by the gift. Jimmy Fallon's intro to his turn as King George was unexpectedly funny.

Mostly covers and a few very good originals that deviated from some of the songs on the original cast recording. Oddly enough there are two versions of Dear Theodosia (my favorite song along with a very good cover of Burn). I love some of the guest artist from Jimmy Fallon to Rene from Calle 13 ( which has a sick verse in spanish in "Immigrants (we get the job done)") Recommended!

Although many of these songs are sung by contemporary artists, like Kelli Clarkson, Usher etc... this disc gives a wonderful insight as to the brilliance of its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the way Rap is used to tell a story. I would also suggest you listen to his earlier play creation, The Heights.

For a seemingly random collaboration of many different artists, I was surprised by how pulled back into Hamilton I got listening to the unique covers and original pieces. Some of them didn't quite land with me, but many more were phenomenal and it was great to go from one distinct style to another.

If you loved the original cast soundtrack as I did, this was a pretty nice addition, but only if you really enjoy hip-hop. The tracks redone by established rappers was actually better than I thought, but the OG versions are still my go-to's when I want to enjoy Lin-Manual Miranda's "Hamilton."

I purchased this music CD as a gift. The person who received it was quick to thank me for the selection and raved about the various tracks performed. The music CD was so great that she wanted me to take the opportunity to listen to it. I was so surprised and did not realize it was performed by various artists. I have since purchased my own. I highly recommend it to any Hamilton fans!!

I've been completely obsessed with the musical for almost a year and I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Mixtape. It is very different from the soundtrack but it's interesting seeing how different artists put their own twist on different songs and topics in the musical.

This Hamilton is packed with stars from young to old and has beats and lyrics that will bring you back. A completely diverse album with style for all kinds. There's R&B, POP & slow jams along with rap, hip hop, and lyrical intelligence that you just can't get on the radio anymore. Thank you to all those involved for giving me something that I can enjoy & teach my kids with.

writing a review for a CD that is derived from a phenomenon is tough. love the original score and equally love this clever take using contemporary artists to give their interpretations of some of the great hits. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius.

Bought this as a gift for my wife. She loves it and listens to it all the time. If you like the sound track from Hamilton you will love this condensed selection of some of the best songs from the show. Makes a great gift and the price is right.

Overall excellent "covers" of songs from the original cast soundtrack. That said, the Mixtape has much greater significance for the listener if you have either seen Hamilton (less likely) or memorized the soundtrack (more likely).

While I was a bit hesitant to pick this up considering how much I love the cast album, I never should have doubted Lin-Manuel. He picked great artists to be on here and it's cool to see different takes on familiar songs.
