Had never watched any of these movies or The Lord of the Rings series. We had a vacation planned to New Zealand so binged all the collection before visiting Hobbiton. The movie were awesome and improved or visit during vacation.

Bias admittance: I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. I personally don't think The Hobbit trilogy is incredible, but it has its moments of greatness and awe. The value of this box set is in the behind the scenes extras. The details discussed during those extras and the commentaries are highly informative and give the observer a deeper respect for what was trying to be accomplished in these films. Not recommended for the average Hobbit fan, but for a die-hard fan like myself, this box set is great. The savings over buying each extended edition as a separate package is an added bonus.

Will what to say its a blu ray and if you have a HDTV regardless of the type or model, When its time to watch a movie am grabbing a blu ray the picture quality is wonderful and you can hear the difference on surround sound love the movie highly recommended grab some popcorn turn it up and you'll love it!!!

The Hobbit Trilogy is one of the best trilogies out there, along with The Lord of The Rings Trilogy. They are excellent movies with a great plot and great characters. So I was super pumped when they came out on extended edition. Would definitely recommend purchasing these movies! Well worth the buy in my opinion.

I bought this to replace the theater versions of the movies; the added material enhances the films, at least for me, a fan of the books and the movies. I also enjoy the extras that are offered; they add to my understanding of the films and of the process in creating them.

This extended edition comes with so much more than just the extended version of the movie. I think there are more dvd's of the extra behind the scenes and interviews and commentaries than there are dvd's for the movie within the box.

Love the movies, love the price! No way to go wrong if you are a LOTR fan, just remember Peter Jackson, like most Hollywood folks tend to change parts of the story to make easier to make or to appeal to a wider audience!

Nicely packaged box set. In addition to the extended versions of the movies, the package includes a huge amount of extras, showing behind the scenes footage of New Zealand, the sets, actors performing stunts, and lots more.

I'm a huge fan of Talkien and from Loving LOT this one was not an exception, I loved the extended versions more than the originals, they have more info that should have come out on the original version, some scenes were needed to better understand some parts of the movie. I cant stop loving them.

Overall the movies were great and the extended parts helped to round out each of the parts of the Hobbit. The discs were in great condition; however, the box when received had a cut along one of the bindings and within each Blu-ray box, the plastic was broken. Fortunately none of the discs were damaged but it makes it more difficult to open the box because the center part is disconnected. So giving this product a 4.

My son is a bog fan of these movies and I did not realize there was an extended edition. Gave this to him for Christmas and became the "best Dad ever"...great sound and picture as well as the cool extended scenes.

This extended edition is a great value. The movies are awesome. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because they only give the code for the third movie in the box. The first two do not have a code for digital. Disappointing because I like to put the digital codes on my movies anywhere account so I can watch them on my iPad when traveling.

This is an excellent movie series. The 1st art I ordered was damaged, and had to return. The customer service rep @ Best Buy was unable to reorder. So, I had to take the time to reorder. The 2nd set has been good so far.

Hobbit movie series is excellent. My main point for this review is the extended scenes in the disc set. They're excellent! Really add to the movie and blend right into the main story line. If you're a Hobbit fan, highly recommend to get this set even if you have the theater release of the movies.

I'm super happy with this set. It has tons of different options and commentaries, and special features that gives it lots of rewatchability. The picture looks even better and i enjoyed it more than the first time i watched it.

Love it! Great product, amazing quality. The only thing that can improve is packing. The box got damaged in shipping. As for the discs - no complaints, just perfect experience watching the 3 movies and 6 parts of appendices.

I hadn't purchased a previous version of these movies, so this is definitely the definitive set. Walked in, got a price match, and walked out. Have watched all three movies and the picture quality is phenomenal...I really don't understand why people need 4K when 1080P already looks this good.

I love the hobbit extended edition because it adds to the story so you have a better idea going into the lord of the rings trilogy!

A must for Middle Earth fans everywhere. Follow up with the Lord of the Rings extended edition and you’ve got a marathon long enough to rival the journey to Mordor.

I was disappointed with the quality of the case and disks. The case was scuffed up and the inside of the case was bad quality. I definitely expected more care and quality from such an amazing franchise.
