Waiting for a long time to purchase this movie (in its entirety). Especially like the Extended Version. Fortunately, I was able to scoop one of the 3 copies available at the store - meaning others were disappointed when they sold out.

Ok we waited until all 3 were released before purchasing. Boxed and bundled, how can we go wrong? Never say no to extended editions either! It's a great purchase for die hard Tolkien fans who want to nerd out and spend a weekend doing a movie marathon.

I have always loved these movies. My 16 year old mentioned wanting to see the hobbit movies, so I picked this set up along with the other trilogy. I really recommend the extended versions for more character background.

This was one of the best series ever. I love Tolkien's books and the movies bring it to life. The extended editions are awesome as they add the deleted scenes into the movie and we get to see everything that the director was thinking about showing.

A must see introduction trilogy to understand the relationships prior to seeing The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The characters, the magic , and the action are all great fun .

I appreciated that after upgrading from the DVD special edition that this Bluray special edition came with something else the DVD one did not, one extra disk of behind the scenes footage.

This was a great value, basically the same price as buying the iTunes digital versions, but here you get the discs too. I got mine using Best Buy's price match guarantee. I haven't actually opened it yet though, just glad to get my hands on it!

I love the extended edition of this as well as the LOR trilogy. Other than them taking some liberties when it came to following the storyline in the book, it was extremely well done.

For as good as the theatrical version of these three movies was, the extended versions fill in the blanks of many questions from those versions. Just like Lord of the Rings, these extended versions needed to be the ones originally released!

While the fact this book was broken out into 3 movies seemed like your typical box office money grab, the movies themselves were great and very entertaining. Definitely on par with the LOTR trilogy and a must have for any Tolkien fan.

Re-watching this series has reminded me how good they are. Peter Jackson took a lot of flack for the additions to these movies, but after watching them again they are classic. So good.

So, I was a little concerned initially that the extended edition would extend the beginning....but I was very surprised that it flowed seamlessly with the rest of the movie, and actually added a LOT of detail and was very enjoyable to watch.

Awesome blu-ray collection. The box however is the trimmed-down version and not the same as the original LOTR collector's box.

We watched this trilogy on a 65" HD TV with a 7.1 sound system. Then watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy, too. The two sets are perfect together. The Hobbit set stands on its own very well but also clarifies parts of the Rings story lines.

A great box set. The extended versions, and 2 discs of extras for each movie. I got an amazing deal on the set. For LOTR fans, a must have.

This collection is GREAT! Has the extended versions for all 3 movies, plus so much bonus content you will be in stuck in front of your TV all day. I watched all 3 movies within a few days of buying this and was extremely pleased.

If you have seen the theatrical versions, then you need to watch these, The extended versions added much more to the story.

I didn't get to see the last Hobbit movie at the theater, but this trilogy made up for it! Graphics were great, the extra content was like a breath of fresh air, and I got it on sale!! I am really satisfied with my purchase at Best Buy!

Love the movies, cant wait to watch the regular version and the extended versions. The extras are awesome and the quality is amazing!
