For fans of Tolkien this is a must have. If you own the LOTR box set I have to say its slightly annoying that this box set is a slightly smaller height, I suppose that is called OCD but whatever. As far as the product itself it is exactly what you expect, extended Blu-ray copies of the movies with special features. It also comes with the digital copy which is nice even if you can only download the SD version.

we all know about the hobbit series. the movies arent as fun as lord of rings series but it's ok.

I cannot watch Lord Of The Rings unless it is the extended versions, same goes with the Hobbit series. So much more to the story and films with these versions!

Although some liberties are taken with the story from the original source material to stretch the book into 3 movies, I think that overall it's generally a pretty faithful adaptation of Tolkien's "The Hobbit".

One of my favorite series out there. Both LoTR and the Hobbit are so good and I watch them yearly. Always make me feel happy whenever I watch them.

I saw that the extended versions were finally in a box set and just had to get them! I love all the special features as well as all the extended scenes. For anyone who loves these movies will love this extra content.

A lot of the extended footage is very cgi based but it’s still cool and adds more than the original.(obviously) I wouldn’t consider any other edition of these films.

I bought this recently and have already watched it twice. Only bad thing is when I opened it up, all the retainer clips inside were broken so all the discs fall out as soon as the boxes are opened. Wish it was in better shape when I bought it.

I've waited for a long time to get this version of this set. Never saw any of the originals and didn't want to double buy, but knew I wanted the best version for my collection. Glad I waited. Love all the features.

The movies are great. As others have noted, the package only contains a code that gives you access to a digital copy of the third movie. You DO NOT get codes for the first two movies. I contacted WB and they told me the offer has expired and they won't provide the codes for the first two movies. Very disappointing.

Great trilogy. Really gives you the basis for understanding how Bilbo Baggins and his adventures set the way for the lord of the ring trilogy.

I loved all three films and saw nothing in it anywhere that wasn't done extremely well. I really loved new characters and the pace of these films was wonderful. I will enjoy watching them for along time to come.

Having devoured the extended versions of the original trilogy and spending many hours watching the fascinating appendicies, I was very glad to see the extended cuts of the second trilogy. Although for many reasons I do not feel that these movies are as strong as the Lord of the Rings, they are all wonderful, and the extra footage really adds to the stories. And once again, the extras are engrossing.

An awesome adventure finally made into a movie. Well worth the wait for the extended material put together in a trilogy pack. I already had The Lord of the Rings extended trilogy so fit right in my collection.

what an amazing adventure come to life from the one book that started it all, by Tolkien. I like the extended editions because they extend the battles.

This single multi-movie collection replaces the three individual sets I had to purchase to get the extended Lord Of The Rings movies. A great presentation of the movies. The bonus material is outstanding.

It was great to have a reason to revisit middle earth. Great collection!

For anyone who loves the series!!! The extended time for each movie has tons of scenes not shown before. It's awesome!!!

The hobbit movies are all fantastic. Yes they do not follow the books. But they never claim to be faithful representations of the books. They are BASED on the books. I love the extra stuff that was added.
