    We have the extended The Lord of the Rings edition and were waiting for this to come out extended. Best Buy had the best price.

    My son loves The Hobbit and heard that they had an extended edition out for it so we picked it up. We both enjoyed the additional footage.

    We love these films, and the extended editions are amazing. The only problem we had with them was that the slots that the DVD's sat in were broken so we had to exchange it for another one. The are still a bit flimsy, but nothing wrong with the movies at all -- just something to watch out for.

    Excellent movies! While they did not follow the book to the letter, still an excellent fantasy story and great lead in to the LOTR movies.
