Initially, I was convinced that I would hate this movie, as I was of the view it was based on books for "teens." I was pleasantly surprised, however, that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The plot and story were great, it had great action sequences, twists and turns, and the acting was superb. Overall, an excellent movie.

This is the type of series that you can sit down and gorge yourself on. If you haven't seen them yet, here's what you do.Buy/rent them all, invite your friends and "mature enough" family over, order/make some grub, enjoy the series! Just don't get mad at me when you're dying to see the ending in November.

The original and first of the Hunger Games series, this film is quite an introduction into the Hunger Games. I loved the story-line, and noticed that I was intrigued to watch more. The film definitely makes you want to see what's next, and Catching Fire is definitely a great sequel! It's a must-have as a collection!

Love the movie. I want to review the quality of the BD itself. It looks very good. The natural grain is there so people don't look unrealistically smooth, and it's not too much grain. There are few features which are interesting. It was packaged nicely and came scratch free like it should. I have no complaints on this!

The Hunger Games is a well-done movie. As far as book to movie translation, it's decently done, but most movies are not long enough to be super-accurate in compared to the books. The video and audio are great, no complaints. The Steelbook case itself is a great quality collector's item. Highly recommended!

Wonderful action pic. Excellent acting, interesting story that keep you in suspense. The design of the movie transports you into another world and keeps you there throughout. Characters are diverse and original. Hits all the right emotional notes. It is no wonder this movie is a standout.

This movie was a good rendition from the book to the big screen. Although they changed several aspects from the book to the movie, it was still very well done. Catching Fire was my favorite book of the series and the movie was by far my favorite so far. Excited to see how the rest of the trilogy works out.

In short, this is an amazing movie. Had to get this steelbook so my Catching Fire would match with this movie. Wish the special features disc was carried over from the previous release though. No matter...I had originally owned Target's 3-disc edition of this movie, and gave it to my brother, while being able to keep one of the special feature discs from that version so I'd still have the whole package!

I thought the movie did very well in portraying the concept brought out of the book well. I have read all 3 books & have watched the first 2 movies! Definitely can't wait for the 3rd one to come out. I will be buying this movie at Best Buy as well. The Hunger Games DVD was really cheap at Best Buy also.

I apologize to those Hunger Fans; however, I never read any of the books. I can't really comment on how the details are similar or not to the book. I went with the purist approach of just watching the movie, by not knowing or having any background of the storyline. I enjoyed the creativity of it though.

Set in the future, the "common people" lived in what looked like the past. This was a nicely paced movie. It had action and actual ' logical human thinking' , which is refreshing. Little to no C.G.I. which to me, is also refreshing. This film holds your interest, no doubt.

This was a great movie and followed the books pretty well. You don't need to read the books to understand what's going on. It does help though. If you liked Divergent, you will like this movie. They have similar underlying messages. This is action packed and you won't be disappointed.

We are movie buffs, especially action movies so this was a must to get. I prefer the combo packs that include a digital version compatible with iTunes so I can download a few for my kids to watch when we go on extended car trips, my daughter is also a big fan of this movie series!

I was hooked on the series, so was waiting for this movie, and saw it on the big screen. However, it just didn't translate to the small screen. I was excited to see it out in the 4K format, and received it as a gift. I love it. So much better in 4K.

I have watched The Hunger Games when the movie was in theater, the DVD came out, the Blue-ray came out, and now again the 4K came out. Each time I enjoy this excellent movie more with additional details. I love it and will watch over and over again - now in 4K!

Hard to believe this is now a classic movie trilogy but it is! Great action scenes and the quality of the 4K video is awesome. If you have watched any of this series before or are just new to it and love these types of movies, you will love this one!!

having this movie in my collection has brought joy to my life and library hehe is such a good movie enough action, drama and love in there I would recommend everybody to go get it and with this unbeateable price everybody should be going to best buy to go get it ..

I bought a new UHD TV a couple of weeks before and I wanted a movie that would show off the TV. This one is excellent. My family already knew it was a great movie. With the new one coming out we wanted to re-watch this one just for fun. Besy Buy had it for a great deal.

Although the book on which the series is based is aimed at young adults, the movie has greater appeal. The first one in the series is still the best, where the basic story and characters are set. The special effects are very good, but the movie doesn't rely on action only in its appeal. Jennifer Lawrence is definitely a role model here for women of all ages.

The Hunger Games series of movies and books are favorites of the kids and adults in my home. We own and love them all. I think this epic saga will forever hold court in our movie collection alongside Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter Collections.
