It's one of those movies where the talking is soft but special effects are loud.... be prepared to play with the volume all movie long. Edward Norton's accent is a bit annoying but an overall entertaining movie

This is the second time I saw this movie and for some reason I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would like the first time. A big fan of Edward Norton though.

    My Husband’s Film Collection

The Illusionist film is a movie that my husband first introduced me to around 2006/2007 when we were living in Florida and it was great to watch the Illusionist together again this week. The Illusionist features a movie trailer to Gray Matters and the movie itself is a deep and complicated history between the characters of Duchess Sophie Von Teschen (Jessica Biel) and Eisenheim The Illusionist (Edward Norton). Duchess Sophie Von Teschen is set to marry the emotionally cold but intellectually gifted Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). I do completely accept that Sewell was just putting his best in the role, it was just that I was extremely shocked by how his Prince Leopold character is required to treat Eisenheim’s character and that of his wife Sophie so abrasively just because he can. Chief Inspector Walter Uhl (Paul Giamatti) is Crown Prince Leopold’s right hand man who is required to start spying on Eisenheim after a witness tattles on Eisenheim and Duchess Sophie immediately after they are spotted simply just talking in a carriage together.

My boyfriend is a fireman and he watched this movie at the firehouse. Well, when he got home thats all he could talk about. We went and bought the movie that night so I could watch it and we could talk about how great it was over dinner. I was just like him. I raved about it to everyone that I spoke to. Well, first of all Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors and of course Jessica Beil is hot as usual. It was a very good movie for Edward Norton. He is a mysterious actor as it is. You never hear much about him. So for this movie being kind of dark it fit him well. The plot will grab you and the ending will make you gasp. You definitly wont be able to just watch it once. So, thats why its best just to go ahead and purchase The Illusionist.

One of the best movies ever made

Ed Norton is an incredible actor and doesn't come up short in this movie. This movie will have you thinking about what's coming for it's entirity. One of the best, if not the best, endings in any movie, after it is over you will want to stand up and clap along with Paul Giamatti even if you're sitting alone in your living room watching it. They could charge $39.99 for this movie if they wanted and I'd still say it was worth it. Best ten bucks ever spent. Quit reading this and go buy it...now.

I have come to appreciate just about any moive that Edward Norton is in. He is a very good actor and has played good roles. This particular movie shows his outstanding talent once again. I was intrigued by his performance and found myself in the edge of my seat until the movie was over. This movie has a twist to make the ending sweet. I was glad to add this to my collection.

I'm always pleasantly surprised with Edward Nortons' performances. Ever since Death to Smoochie I have been a big fan. In this suspense mystery, he does a dazzling performance as a magician who traveled all of Europa learning the craft of illusion. Returning home for his childhood love events begin to unfold in a most disconcerting way. Props to the writers and director of this one. Oh, and Jessica Biel, you're a hottie!

This is a great movie, my wife and I loved it! It's very entertaining and very intriguing. I'm a huge fan of Edward Norton, and he's fantastic in this movie, (as usual.) This movie has a great plot, great acting, great suspense, and a great ending. I highly recommend it! Also, if you like this movie, I recommend The Prestige and Lord of Illusions.

ive always loved illusions. it caught my attention in a preview and looked real interesting and loved how serious they made it look. and how it left you hanging and what the story behind him and his life and how he got to where he was from when he started and would happen to him in the end.

The scene and settings in Austria, Old world charm, obviously the illusions. No backing of how the illusion / magic is done - compare it with The Prestige by Chris Nolan which is more technical and analyses how part of the magic.
