Not My Cup of Tea
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love tea. I love trying new tea. I love tea that Soderbergh makes. I love period-piece tea. I love gritty tea. I love Clive Owen tea. But a few minutes into the first episode I could already tell, this was not my cup of tea. Could never quite tell if it was trying too hard or being too lazy. The shaky-cam cinematography felt obnoxious against the period setting. Writing felt like they were hitting the one note of "look at how terrible everything used to be!" over and over again. I was really looking forward to this show, but I still haven't gotten past the third episode. Maybe it will be someone else's cup of tea, but to those of you out there riding the wave of critical praise, maybe look for another tea to try instead of this one.
