I was absolutely blown away by this game. The story, the controls, and the picture is just astonishing. There are no words for how amazing this game is and definitely is a game worth playing over and over again

This game is awesome. The tale of revenge begats revenge and no one wins is a great way to tell the consequences of certain actions from the first game. Playing as both characters and getting their perspective of events was a nice touch al beit I would have flipped the order of when things happened, but ultimately it told a story that if you understand what a tragedy is, then you will come to appreciate this game for what it is. To me it opens up for a part 3 if you pay attention towards the end. Great game, must buy. Also, I don’t see any political issues being shoved in anyone’s face in this game. You just have to understand story telling.

I get why a good chunk of people hated on this game, there is a split where you are forced to be someone else for a large stretch. And if you hated the character, which many do, then it's hard to appreciate all the little details in this game that is much improved from the first one. The ability to crouch then lay flat, and still use a weapon. Avoiding the whistlers. Even strumming guitar tunes is fun in it's own right. The story is fantastic plain and simple. It IS an uncomfortable game, especially for veterans of the first game who have an undying attachment to Joel and Ellie. But it truly is a breath taking experience all around.

Many gave this game low reviews before they had a chance to complete it and play the 20 - 30 hour story to completion. This a story about hatred, loss, and forgiveness. People forget far too often that there's two sides to every story. The combat matches the excellence of the story. You can play aggressive on easier difficulties, but this game plays best through stealth on "Hard" or "Survivor" mode where you'll have to very carefully utilize your scarce resources. The gameplay, the incredible graphics and the attention to detail make this game one of if not the most immersive games I've ever played.

Ignore the hate that this game is receiving online...Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar of video game storytelling and world design. If you were a fan of the original Last of Us, Part II is a must play. It rests near the cream of the crop of the PS4, along with God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Do not miss this game. The Special Edition comes with a very slick steenbok case as well as an art book similar to the one included with the Uncharted 4 Special Edition. It's a nice package, and if you are a big fan of the series, it's worth the extra dollars, without breaking the bank.

Will be game of the year. 10/10. Top notch graphics, sound, story and gameplay. Have already beat game and getting to go through game again- highly recommend

This was a fantastic game. Best game I have played for the PS4 generation and arguably the best game I have ever played period, coming from an avid fan of the first game. Fantastic story with amazing character development throughout. Very dark and challenging with many scenes that will break your heart. It will challenge what you thought you knew about each character and force you to rethink everything you thought you knew about each character. Absolutely perfect game. P.s the graphics and animations are the best I have ever seen, including any P.C game I have played.

The moment you pop in this game, it does a fantastic job setting the tone and emotion of where the story is headed. It hits all the chords of the emotional spectrum, from satisfaction to embroiled hatred for your enemy. Lots of emotional queues that will tug at your heart, and tense moments that will make you jump intensity from your accomplishments. The graphics and sound are phenomenal in what we have come to expect from Sony first party and Naughty Dog in general, and the gameplay moments are refined and as smooth as ever. Can't wait to start another play-through!

This game is a wonderful heartbreaking chaotic experience that erupts you up and then suddenly drops you down within all kinds of emotional turmoils! I absolutely Love this game with the energy of a Million Stars! "The Last Of Us 2" will live in our history as one of the greatest artistic masterpieces in gaming design & story telling to have ever been created within our time as this species. We are very fortunate to have had this experience!! This game has so much to teach us about how unbelievably misguided and lost we are/can be, and then at the same time how fine-tuned our senses are for the incredible yearning to love and be loved. Which is "one of" the most powerful "elements if you will" for our survival and longevity as Human Beings. The Last Of Us 2 is much more than "just a game" to me... It's a 3-D digital-reality that tries to imitate Reality... but one can clearly feel an almost out of body experience while being immersed in its world. As if the game is invoking something more... pushing outward or drawing inward from a 5th dimension a.k.a "Hypercube" ripping into the fabric of our Reality. It brilliantly succeeds in "not imitating" but rather "Emulating" a probable but terrifying "what if?" future of Reality! Thank You to everyone at "Naughty Dog" for your beautiful minds and talented skill-set as game/entertainment creators I applaud your craftsmanship.

I played the game to the very end. It took me around 46 hours to beat. I think the story is great and the gameplay is so much fun. I wish people would just share their opinion about this game on its own and stop comparing it to the first one. The only thing I'll say about the first one is that I always wanted to see what happened to Ellie and here we are able to play her character and venture on this journey with her. The game looks beautiful and the world that was designed for this game is amazing. This is, to me, going to be one of the best games of the year.

As a huge fan of the first one, I had high enough expectations going into this adventure. I avoided all pre-release information and went in as blind as I could. It blew away all my expectations, exceeded what I thought that a game could do story-wise, and delivered a much tighter playing experience while giving players layers more options for gameplay. It is not going to be for everyone, absolutely. And you really need to play the first to get the full experience. But if you want to try it, I would say just take the plunge and see.

I don't know where or how to start. Maybe I should begin by saying this game have everything you want in a video game: Solid story, very tense moments, action, love, fantastic graphics and lots of places to explore and things to admire. Its campaing is long and solid but once you are done you are most likely to go back and collect everything you left behind. It is a mesmerizing game. ------------------ Best Buy delivery on the other hand, was delayed and I think they should be more on time for costumers that pre-order games.

The Last of Us 2 is different from the first game. They are two different stories, and people fail to see it. The perspectives the game's story is told from is just brilliant. The gameplay is really fluid and enjoyable. There is a lot of violence and brutality, so it's not for everyone. Some think the story is mediocre, however, you'll have to play to experience it yourself. I pre-ordered the game, but I received it 3 days later, instead of the release date. :(

Impressive continuation of the first game! The core gameplay is the same as the first title, but they've added more refinement and improved enemy AI to make for a more realistic experience. Very story-driven, with some open (but still somewhat linear) traversing in the world. If you explore, you definitely are rewarded with more resources, some of which flesh out the story further. Integration of story and gameplay is really good and gets you immersed in the world. Well-done sequel.

If you haven't played the first game go play it & then get this one.. Both are incredible in every aspect of a game. Game play, story line, characters, replay abilities, graphics, fun, challenging, & the list goes on. The second game is huge compared to the first too.. Absolutely one of the best games out there !! You'll get lost for hours in both these game & absolutely get caught up in the characters & story. Always remember to explore & take your time too not just run through. Buy it you'll love it

The Last of Us Part 2 is the best looking, most realistic, video game I've ever encountered. The gameplay is fun and tense when you get surrounded by 4 or 5 infected. The story keeps you wondering what will happen next and I even say this as someone who saw some spoilers before the game released, the story is still good. It is the closest thing to film while still giving you the freedom the video games allow. The exploration is plentiful too The Last of Us Part 2 is a classic, and ignore the haters

Where do I begin? If you do a simple Google or Twitter search of this game, or go simply on Metacritic, you’ll see a huge divide of review scores, opinions, and takes on this game. Now, without me spoiling this year’s most anticipated sequel (sorry Doom Eternal), let me answer some FAQs and misconceptions this game has. The total playtime of one of my playthroughs was roughly 23hrs (in-game clock confirms), harder playthrough was about 26 hours. While there is an actor in this game who is Transgender, there’s no mention or story significance to that actor’s character’s gender or sexuality. Yes, the game does have LGBTQ characters in it and some kissing scenes and flirtation. If that ruffles your feathers, I’m glad I let you know now. The story: So Naughty Dog have came out numerous times and have said the plot is about Hate. And boy is that true! There’s lots of hate to feel in this game. From the character motivations to other characters to the story that’s going on “behind the scenes”, however there’s a lot more going on here than at first glance. I personally won’t bore you with my objective opinion on this game, but I do feel that the game took some massive risks (some I agree with, and some I disagree with) and did something I was DEFINITELY unexpecting. The gameplay is still relatively the same with some additions of new items to craft, new gun upgrade crafting animations, and some tweaks to gameplay as dogs (not a spoiler, in trailers) and the ability to go prone. Sound design is definitely a plus in this game as the soundtrack, gameplay music that serves as ambience, and the voice acting knock it out of the park. Also, I love Dina. She’s such a fantastic woman in many, many ways. I’ve personally done 3 playthroughs of this masterpiece, have earned the platinum trophy, and played on the hardest difficulty, and can say each time I got something from the experience.

I had been anticipating this game since it was first announced and let me tell you it was worth the wait. Beutiful game with an amazing story that makes you feel all sorts of hurt. The game play is pretty awesome too getting to play as Ellie is so fulfilling. The introduction of new infected is great as well and eventhough it was terrifying loved the 'boss' fights. If you are remotely interested you have to play it to experience it becuase that's what this is, an experience.

Finally got around to playing this "could have been masterpiece." I tried to put my preconceived notions aside based on all of the videos I watched on YouTube trashing the game and I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics are top-tier, possibly the best of the generation. The animations and character models are amazing and sometimes you forget they're not real. It is brutal though. The gore and killing is extremely graphic and it is like that throughout the entire game. Savage. Some of the encounters or battles that are pertinent to the story are awesome as well. They will really leave an impression. BUUUUUT... There are a lot of dumb story decisions that were made by the Druckman (game director) and after really analyzing the events, it is pretty dumb. And this IS a game that you play for the story, so don't get it twisted. This one isn't about the gameplay. It's basically a movie, with some genuinely bad decisions in the writing. This game also has a lot of LGBT agenda throughout. It is painfully clear within the first 2 hours where this game is going. But if you shut your brain off and love anything Sony/Naughty Dog put out, this is quite the experience. It just could have been an objectively god-tier game for everyone instead of just a masterpiece for some. Missed opportunity.
