With a interesting storyline (sorry no spoilers here) the movie starts off with a bang and then settles down a bit with good highs and lows in the typical Vin fashion. You can expect solid fight scenes and a fair amount of action and some special effects. Additionally you get the full compliment of Blu Ray, DVD, and HD Digital Copy, if only this movie was made in 3D it would hit 5 stars, or if it came in a steelcase that would boost it to 4 1/2, in any case its a good change from Vin's long stint in the Fast & Furious series. So no need to buckle up to enjoy this film.

Vin Diesel is back in a action packed film that will actually keep you entertained. The pros are that it comes with a BR disk, DVD disk, and a digital copy, the Cons are there is no 3D version of this film which is a shame as it would be nice in 3D and it doesn't come in a steelcase. The steelcases are becoming a huge seller but many manufactures are doing sneaky things like not including the 3D version in the steelcase, or having a steelcase and not including all the disks (3D BR, BR, DVD, DC), this would help make it perfect.

To start out I will say that I enjoy most of the films similar to this. Dracula Untold, the Underworld series, etc. I still would not say this was snub of any oscars. It was not amazing in any aspect but still entertaining and worth my time. I also enjoy most Vin Diesel movies, and this was similar to most that he is bacically the basest dude on earth in the film. I would recommend this to most who enjoy being entertained from film. Hardcore critics you may want to stay away, there is much you could complain about.

Very enjoyable. Vin Diesel is always great and the pace of the movie, the plot line, action and acting were all very good. I didn't feel like there were any inconsistencies or flaws in storyline, as there sometimes are with action movies. I felt it went together seemlessly, with an intruiging fantasy / supernatural theme. Even the good-ole 'Catholics versus demonism' idea is still able to hold relevance in modern films. Vin Diesel is the perfect combination of cocky, confident, humorous, and serious-action when needed.

The LWH, is not the worst movie ever! Lol Bre ck Eisner directed the very well produced "The Crazies" remake. Yeah.....he also did Sahara, but whatever. The Last Witch Hunter has an impressive cast. Even if there isn't much for them to do,rather than collect a pay check. The visuals and effects are awesome. And yeah the story is meh! It's a Vin Diesel action movie. Your not expecting Hamlet! Worth a watch!

I have enjoyed this one. The make up and special effects are exceptional. This is the new movie to play on Friday night when the kids and grand kids (ages 10 and up) and their friends are sleeping over. after watching this and falling asleep, just wake them up by grabbing them by the ankles. They jump and scream like they were having a bad dream and got caught. That's just the boys. The girls scream and cry. Everyone in the house was jumpy after watching this one. Yessssss!!!!

Purchased it without caring what others had to say. Which were mostly negative comments, got it cause I wanted to watch a movie I hadn't seen before, plus it was 15 bucks which isn't bad at all considering it came out not too long ago. And to my surprise was better than expected, sure it wasn't an amazing movie but it was definitley one I enjoyed. Hard to see vin diesel act as someone other than Dom though, but a great movie overall. Good to watch atleast twice.

While I thoroughly love Riddick and he can't be faulted in the Fast and Furious collection, this movie was definitely one made just for him. It's a sheer delight for any Vin Diesel fan, keeping to his tough with a heart of gold character and it's definitely a must have for anyone who loves the sword and sorcery genre. As he says in one interview, "I always wanted to do a fantasy movie," everyone, if your like me, will not be disappointed he did this one.

I like Vin Diesel. He is one of my favorite American actors. Still, after hearing the reviews about this movie, I did not go see it at the cinema. I waited and bought the Blu-ray to watch it. Boy, I am sorry that I did not go to the big screen to watch it. The action scenes and special effects would have been even more dynamic there. My advise: buy it if you are a Vin Diesel and sci-fi buff like me.

Reminds me of how movies used to be. Solid story, reasonable length, no gratuitous language or nudity, no overly dramatic scoring. Excellent supporting cast. This movie also had great special effects which were used to tell the story not to try wow you with tons of special effects. I actually like the lead character and look forward to learning more about him in the sequel. This was a delightful reprieve from my usual fair because let's face it, to get quality story these days, it seems like you have to take all the excessive language, nudity, violence, horror and cynicism that comes with it.

It's a cool premise, but not the greatest execution. Still, I thought it was worth seeing.

I literally purchased this just to have it; I had already seen it a hundred times. I haven't actually watched it again since I purchased it on Blu-ray. I loved this movie. Enough so, that even if I don't watch it again, I just had to own it. Off chance I don't want to see the new release, this gives me an instant go-to for movie night :)

The movie is a very darkly lit film and the higher resolution makes these scenes clearer and display significantly more detail.  When the film does move into the daylight, the picture is very bright and edge detail, especially in the garden dream sequence, is fantastic.  Even though the film lacked a bit, at least it received a very nice 4K transfer.
