Trails of Cold Steel is part of a much larger JRPG series. The Legend of Heroes spans a ton of entries, but the ones that begin with "Trails of" are all set in the same world (such as Trails in the Sky). Since this is Trails of Cold Steel II, it's beneficial to have played the previous one that just released on PS4 a few months ago (trust me, it's worth it!) This entry was previously released on PC, PS3, and Vita and if you've already started a game on the latter two and created a cloud save in-game, you can continue where you left off on the PS4 version. Plus, it adds additional voiced dialogue, a fast forward mode, and all of the DLC. It comes packaged with a steelbook case, replica pin, 7 cards, soundtrack, and a paper manual (remember those?) Keep in mind that because this is an enhanced port of a much older game, it's not as visually impressive as other games on the console. Also, prepare yourself for a ton of exposition and world building. If you're okay with all that, you're in for a fantastic experience as the characters, combat, and overall narrative are top notch. It even has a similar social aspect to the Persona games. And when you're done with that, be sure to pick up Trails of Cold Steel III when it releases later this year!

Before I had purchased TLOH trails of cold steel 1 a few months back I was searching up videos on youtube on turn based jrpg games for ps4 an this video came up called the 10 most underrated jrpgs games an this game was on that list so when I saw this game I was like this game looks pretty good it reminded me of the good old turn based jrpgs I played from my childhood such as final fantasy legend of the dragoon persona etc so I was like let me give this game a try an every since I purchased this game I been guled to the game every since 10 outta 10 from me now I'm about half way through TLOH trails of cold steel 2 an this game already have me excited for the third trails of cold steel game that's suppose to come out late this year

If you like JRPGs, you will definitely like this game. Excellent story (keep in mind, this is a sequel so you need to play the first game first), well developed and likeable characters, good graphics and flow. Play this along with the first game and get ready for the third in the series which comes out soon.

This version plays identically to the PS3 version, but the Turbo Mode greatly helps cut down on the time-consuming travel and animations. The story is as awesome as ever, but be warned: for spoilers' sake, DO NOT play this before finishing the first game!!!!

This is a 4 part RPG series. Sadly only 3 parts have a US release so far. Great RPG, and even if you have a backlog of other games to play, pick this up anyway. More sales means a better chance for the finale to be ported over.

Trails of Cold Steel II is an excellent follow-up to the first game. It is a direct continuation of the first game's story, so be sure to play the first Trails of Cold Steel before starting the second.

An incrediblly rich story, unforgettable characters, and fantastic gameplay. One of the best JRPGs released in a long time. Make sure to play Cold Steel 1 first.

The game itself is good. If you're looking at this, you know what you're getting into. What I"m here to talk about is the package. The game comes with a nice steel case and the soundtrack is good. The instruction manual is also a nice read and the art is good too. This is a worthwhile purchase as the extras in the game are worth it. The fast forward features also make this so much faster than the PS3 or Vita versions.

A great story with good character development. Challenging game play but fun for all levels.

This sequel which is the 2nd part of a tetralogy picks up where the last ended and improves upon the first had where is more open than the first allowing you to choose where to go and gameplay is similar to the first but with new functions like Overdrive, I originally played the Vita version but I was delighted to buy this new improved PS4 version and I highly recommend this to the hardcore JRPG enthusiasts.

Better than the first, still good graphics, story, battle system, etc. Highly recommend!

A lot of fun, great turn based combat mixed with a surprisingly compelling story

This game is great! It's part 2 of the Cold Steel games, coming after the first one, and before the 3rd one. If you think of games 1 and 3 like bread, then game 2 is like the meat or the filling that completes the sandwich. If it weren't for this game, you would have what some people refer to as a "wish sandwich" but since this game exists then that is not the case!
