If this were a standalone game, rather than a continuation in a neverending series, this would be an alright game. The battle system is smooth (smoother than the previous game), music is alright, characters are likeable enough, etc.
However, this game, more than any other in the series, does basically nothing to move the overall story forward. The game even tells you as much at some point. This could have been an extra chapter in the previous game and still accomplished what it sought.
But, if you're just looking to waste 60+ hours on a game for no good reason, go ahead.
