Customers value the graphics, art style, and the overall remake of this classic game. Many enjoyed the puzzles, story, and ease of use, finding the controls intuitive and the experience nostalgic. However, some felt the game was too short and experienced occasional performance dips. A few players mentioned frame rate inconsistencies as a drawback.

This game is gorgeous, fun to play, and challenging, especially when you start the game on the harder setting.
A few things I don't like however. You can only control link in 8 directions. You can only use the analog stick too which makes takes a while to get used too. Nintendo needs to enable the D Pad to give it the classic SNES feel.
Also the game slows down a lot in some areas. Frames crawl and it is noticeable. I didn't diminish my enjoyment of the game but it was off putting.
Other than those 2 complaints it was a great game and glad to have it in my collection.

Never played the original on GameBoy so I was fresh coming to this remake. The style and camera angles maintain an updated but still somehow distinctly GameBoy feel. The change in frame rate is noticeable if you are waiting for it but by no means hinders gameplay. I was also worried after Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild that the Links Awakening island would feel confining and small, but the world/map itself is dense! Every inch of the map is loaded with puzzles, treasures, and enemies to battle. A very enjoyable 15 or so hours of play time!

This is a great remake of one of my favorite Zelda games. I noticed some subtle changes such as a couple bosses behaving a bit different, felt different jumping and swinging the sword at the same time. Stuff like that. Some people complain about the price but I think its worth it considering how beautiful a job they did on this. I only wish it was a longer game. I guess that is my only real complaint. Somehow the original seemed longer but of course I was 7 back then lol.

Playing Link's Awakening brings a pure joy that I haven't encountered often in games. While it is definitely smaller in scale than other Zelda titles such as Breath of the Wild, there is plenty to have fun and interact with. The game's art style and music are additional positives. However, the only problems that have occurred have been a brief drop in frame rate (two years after release) and a largely inconsequential dungeon builder.

I never played this when it came out originally on GameBoy and its previous releases. The thing that attracted me to get version was its art style. Admittedly I been using youtube a lot when I got lost. Its one of those games that I compare to NES Super Mario where you just play it over and over and never get bored. I'm not even done with it yet but knowing I'll playing again because I know what to do and its just fun to play.

I had a lot of fun playing through this game. The redone graphics and soundtrack are really striking while keeping the game itself faithful to the original. There's not as much here as there is in Breath of the Wild by far, which is to be expected given the time the original game came from, but there's still plenty to do. The gameplay is challenging without being too frustrating and forces you to really think through the puzzles. The story is also excellent. I was on the fence about buying this game, but I'm really glad that I did.

Great game and better remaster to the classic. Overall amazing gameplay and story for both fans and newcomers alike. Its artstyle and music is beautiful, if you or someone you know never gotten a chance to play on GBA. Pick this up and enjoy.

Excellent game, really takes me back to my childhood. I’ve enjoyed every single aspect of this game and it’s still pretty much the way I remembered as a kid. Definitely worth buying it and definitely worth the experience again. There are added game experiences and differences with enhance graphics and music. If you had this game is a kid, this will definitely bring back a lot of good memories.

Link’s Awakening has been remade from the ground up with beautifully detailed toy-like visuals, and some new features such as the dungeon “creator”. Unfortunately there just isn’t enough new content to justify the $60 price tag of this remade Gameboy game.
When I heard about the dungeon editor, I got pretty excited thinking it may be a Mario-Maker-esque experience that I could share with friends and would add onto the overall replayability of the game. Instead of a full editor, players unlock already-full dungeon rooms that you can place together like a puzzle. Sharing is limited to saving your “building block puzzle dungeon” to an amiibo, and scanning it on a friend’s switch. Just a little disappointing.
Link’s Awakening for Switch is definitely worth a play, especially if you’ve never played the original, but keep in mind the game is quite short and low on content for the price you pay.

Awesome game! Never played the original and this Switch version is awesome play story and colorful characters just awesome! Nintendo is bringing fun to play with Switch console and light portability! It’s about gameplay not just about power like PlayStation and Xbox! And own them as well but the Switch and switch lite is taking over.

This is a very faithful remake of the original Game Boy Color game. The new art style and graphics look absolutely stunning and the gameplay is just as tight and fun as it was. The only negative with the game is how short it is for its price point.

If I played it the first time around, I've no recollection, but this version with its total and adorable graphics overhaul feels like a fresh new game anyway. It's fun but, as it's retro roots show, absurdly obscure when it comes to guiding the players. Knowing where to go and what to do next felt a lot like a 90s point and click game where you just keep interacting with everything until something happens. Still, it's hard not to enjoy this adventure even when it's confounding you.

I grew up playing the original Gameboy version of Links Awakening. This remake does more than justice to the original. It's a great entry both for newcomers and veterans of the Zelda franchise. The art style is very charming and quite fitting for this adventure. The game moves forward at a fast pace, which makes the 12-15 hours it takes to beat it fly by. Despite the games short duration, I highly recommend it for Switch owners hungry for more adventures with Link!

In the quest for more Zelda as we wait not so patiently for more BoTW.... we turn to this lovely and delightful remake of Links Awakening. In short-buy it. In slightly less short- it’s adorable and cute with lots of fun to be had. Though shorter than BoTW and not as open play, it is a great way to spend an evening solving classic Zelda puzzles. 10/10 would recommend...and play again......*goes off to discover more Easter eggs*

A Great Remake of the GameBoy Original

This is pretty much a 1-1 remake of the original GameBoy game (it even includes the secret Color Dungeon of the GameBoy Color version), only with completely revamped, high-resolution visuals. The aesthetic is amazing, like a 3D diorama. While it's NOWHERE near as big or deep as Breath of the Wild, it's still a sizeable adventure (probably at least 20 hours if you want to find and unlock everything) and a great introduction to 2D Zelda games for younger gamers.
