    Fantastic Remaster

When The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword first released, it was at the tail end of the Wii's lifespan, so a lot of folks missed out on this gem of a game. Now that it is on Switch, Zelda fans are in for more of a treat than they were initially. Not only does the game look and sound better than ever, but if you were not particularly fond of the idea of having to play with motion controls, there is now an option to play with the buttons instead. I personally feel like the motion controls work better for combat, but I'm glad that this version is far more accommodating. There is a lot of quality of life stuff that has been added, such as being able to skip cutscenes, tutorials, and the excessive text that comes with finding a new item. As for the base game itself, it's very reminiscent of Wind Waker in that there is an open sky world populated with floating islands for you to explore with the aid of a giant bird that you ride from place to place. There is a different world on the ground to traverse as well, which is where all of the dungeons take place. The dungeon design is phenomenal in this game, as are some of the boss encounters. There are a handful of sequences that the game could do without and some boss encounters are repeated far too much, but overall it's a solid game that holds up well if you've never played it before. Highly recommended.

Excellent Zelda game, it tends to get a lot of negative reviews, maybe because of the controls, it takes a little bit to get use to them, but you learn them supper fast, I ended up liking them, as it makes the game feel different. If you love zelda games, you will definitely like this one. It follows the same classic formula of dungeons that BOTW seems light on.

Never played the original on the wii. However, from all the reviews I have seen, it seems it was for the best. This game is great. Great art style. good gameplay. Found myself using the stick waaay more than the "motion controllers". Glad they added this option. Some bosses and sections a bit repetitive, but do not take away much from the overall experience.

Really enjoying this game so far. The graphics are obviously not on par with BOTW but they have a really smooth/nice feel to them. The game play is harder IMHO than BOTW but if you like that game, you will like this. I never played it on the Wii so can't comment on how it compares to that version and experience.

I love this game so much!! It’s one of my favorite Zelda games and it’s wonderful to be able to experience it again in HD and with free camera movement! The motion controls are more accurate than the Wii version and the button controls are comfortable after a little getting used to. It’s a solid game with lovable characters and a classic Zelda story.

It’s skyward sword with the annoying stuff taken out and remastered with more intuitive controls. What’s not to love. I tried playing the original for a bit when it came out and it was annoying to swing the sword but this works great! A great buy especially if you never played the original

Super fun game and the graphics are real nice. As a Nintendo gamer who hasn't played a lot of Legend of Zelda games, this one is fairly easy to pick up and play through.

I’m very happy to know that this game received a port for the Nintendo Switch. Skyward Sword, being the beginning of The Legend of Zelda in terms of in-game history, provides a unique story, interesting characters, and diverse temples. It maintains a linear fashion like many other older Zelda titles, however, it is not overbearing and I found charm in it instead. The importance of motion controls also added a level of challenge, but it was very welcome and made the game more exciting to learn. If you have any interest in the story of The Legend of Zelda itself, this is the perfect game for you, and even if you’re just looking for a more unique title to play, this game will fill all of your needs there as well.

The Zelda series is my favorite, and I really enjoyed revisiting Skyward Sword on the Switch years after originally playing it on the WII. Graphic upgrade is noticeable, controls seem smoother than the Wii version. Forgot how much fun the flying aspect could be. Some of the best "dungeons" and boss fights in the series.

I skipped skyward sword when I was on the Wii. That is why I decided to pick it up in Hd and on the Switch. The game plays good for what they had to do to the controls. The game looks great and it still holds up as a great Zelda game.

Overall not the best Zelda game but since I had never purchased it before it came out on Kindle I decided to give it a chance. So far I am really enjoying both the story and the graphics. Perhaps I should give this 4.5 stars because it does show it age a bit.

The game looks and runs great. I love the smooth frame rates. My only real gripe is that it's rather difficult to play in handheld mode (the camera stick will function as the sword controls, which can be frustrating when you're used to using that stick for the camera your entire life), and when you play with motion controls, you're constantly having to recenter the cursor. If you enjoyed Skyward Sword on Wii though I don't think these things are enough to ruin the whole experience. I'm still having fun playing it.

A great game ported over from Nintendo Wii. Visuals get the mandatory (and nice) overhaul. The big win is that you can now play wisth a controller and not have to waggle the Wiimote (if you enjoy that you can waggle your switch).

Great updated version of Skyward Sword, particularly with being able to use the Switch Pro Controller, brighter and sharper visuals, and able to ignore Fi easier. Only negative is some of the sword usage, as well as I will admit that trying to do the Final Blow move is more difficult than the original Wii Plus Remote.

It was a very good game and it was fun to play through again however if you already have the wii version and are expecting something new then maybe hold off on buying this until there is a sale or something because it definitely isn’t worth full price because there are not enough changes to warrant that price tag

Fun game. About 35 hours in and it looks like I’m close to finishing it. I really like the joy con controls for the shield and sword adds a lot of fun to the game. Graphics and story are good, which makes it fun trying to complete everything in the game. Id recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun game

    A Timeless and Remastered Story

I originally played Skyward Sword when it was first released on the Wii many years ago. I really loved the storyline and how it tells the early beginnings of the Zelda series. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the game only completing a little more than 3/4ths of the game. When this was announced for the Switch, I knew that I had to second chance to play this game and feel the nostalgia of it all those years ago. The story is timeless and still lives up to today. The quality of life improvements has made this game so much better, most especially some of the sidequests that were so frustrating when the original game came out due to motion controls. The addition of using the controller was a welcome improvement. However, it does take a bit of a learning curve to understand how the joysticks translate into the swordplay. Coming from Breath of the Wild, it is different since the original game did not have camera controls. Overall, whether you've finished this game or not, and you're a collector, I would recommend this game!

I’ve played many Zelda games in the past, but I actually never got around to playing this one. I’m so glad Nintendo released it for the switch. It’s an amazing game so far and I am only partly through it. The story is amazing and it looks great with the HD remaster! I would 100% recommend buying this game!

Played this back on the Wii and man what an improvement. The graphical bump is a big plus and I appreciate the option to skip a lot of what was annoying in the intro. Overall really fun and great music. You can also play this like the Wii with the Joy-Cons. Worth the re-purchase.

I love this game, of all the Zelda games this one has the best story, and possibly the best relationship between Zelda and Link. The gameplay is the only thing that I didn't really like from the original but now you can use a pro controller which is awesome. Zelda never dissapoints and this is a must have
