After hundreds of hours exploring the kingdom of Hyrule in BOTW, its so good to revisit it in Tears of the Kingdom. I couldnt recommend this game enough. Being able to take to the skys or go underground to new parts of the world is just amazing. Not to mention, being able to build crazy devices to explore Hyrule in a new way!

It’s a really fun game, but I’m not a huge fan of the weapons breaking and the crafting element to it. I do miss the Zelda games where you upgraded your weapons after each dungeon and kept them. However, it’s a good story and it’s got way more depth than Breath of the Wild. And the world feels less empty.

It's the latest zelda game. Come on. If you played Breath of the Wild, then this is a foregone conclusion, and what are we even talking about here? If not, you could jump right in here, as the gameplay is actually pretty varied from BOTW, and you'll get plenty of new narrative to clue you in to the over-arching story. But you should probably go get BOTW first. Just cuz.

I was worried that Nintendo wouldn’t be able to accurately recreate the experience of playing Breath of the Wild for the first time, but somehow they did it again! The new game mechanics and abilities add a whole new layer of creativity to the game, and the different map levels introduce lots of new areas to explore. I felt the same sense of wonder playing this game for the first time that I did 6 years ago playing BotW. Thank you for another great game, Nintendo!

Tears of the Kingdom is still a chaotic physics playground, but it's one that's in some ways breezier and friendlier, and in other ways even more punishing than its predecessor. In certain respects it feels very familiar, and in others like a different kind of game altogether.

A very fun game that builds on the great foundation of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and adds a lot more dimension. You certainly don’t have to play Breath of the wild though, starting your Zelda journey with this would be fine. Skydiving down to the surface, going underground, the game is unreasonably big. I like big games, at times it’s so big I get distracted from what I’m intending to do, but that’s part of the magic of Zelda. Looks great on my TV!

*minor spoilers ahead* To start off, I like this game. I had lots of fun but this game is not and will never be close to perfect. For a 6 year wait, the amount of content reused from BOTW is very disappointing. None of the new additions such as the sky or the depths offer anything of value. We get the same hyrule from BOTW with minor changes and even more busy work. Not only are there more shrines and more korok seeds, they’ve added 81 boring hudson signs, and 149 caves that have no unique bosses and have repeated enemies. There are not many new enemies to fight in the main map of hyrule either. Same bokoblins, lizalfos, moblins, octoroks, and lynels from the first game, plus the boss bokoblins, constructs, gleeoks, and a few more. Dungeons manage to be both better and worse than divine beasts. Sage abilities are annoying and you will tend to activate the wrong one on accident. Ultrahand is a cool mechanic and so are fuse and ascend. But TOTK makes you build something using ultrahand every single time you want to do some form of side content. Fuse adds a ton of new possibilities for fighting enemies. However, fuse does not really fix weapon durability, your weapon will still break very quickly after attacking any silver variant of an enemy. Ascend is very useful for getting up to any high place and is especially useful after you’re done exploring caves. It allows you to skip major parts of tedium after exploration. All of that is great except TOTK USES THE EXACT SAME ARMOR SETS FROM THE FIRST GAME, that you can still get using amiibo. Making actively exploring the get these armor sets pointless because they are often worse than the non amiibo armor. There are very little new armor sets otherwise. Upgrading armor is even more tedious than in BOTW, now you have to do the same exact quest over and over again to unlock all the fairies. And the materials they require need a lot of grinding. The story this time around is presented much better but there are some plot points that should have been expanded on. They probably will, in another 20 dollar dlc. Great. There is content from BOTW that is not in TOTK, such as guardians, and the dlc content. So you’re paying 10 for the same game with a future dlc for sure. Music is reused from BOTW, some things added, some things removed. Every quest in TOTK is a fetch quest and will often lead into another fetch quest. This game is a completionist nightmare. Do not 100% this game if you play on buying. Go 100% xenoblade 1-3, or super mario odyssey. Overall, this is a good game, it is not a good sequel, if you never played BOTW, try this game out, but beware of the larger amount of tedious side content that outweighs this game’s positives. I recommend BOTW and its DLC more than TOTK. TOTK is not even close to GOTY it’s a 6/10 at best. Go spend a little under 70$ on games like stardew valley and any other nintendo exclusive on sale, they offer way more than TOTK. If you played BOTW do not play this game, you will eventually hate it and BOTW too because of how similar they are. Sorry for confusing anyone but please do not get this game.

I have been playing this game since I got it and I'm surprised that they were able to surpass Breath of the wild. Although in the same setting as BOTW, it has so many new things and a much bigger map which it justifies its 70 dollar price. I am amazed at how much you can do and the many options and creative ways to fight an enemy and complete a mission. This game is a must have and words can't describe the amount of fun I been having.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was a groundbreaking game when it came out, Tears of the Kingdom fixes the few cons that Breath had. From the moment you start Tears, it is hard to put it down. There is always something to do. Either on the surface, in the sky, or down in the depths. This game is a masterpiece from beginning to end. It quickly became my favorite games in the Legend of Zelda series

I have been waiting so long for them to release a sequel to Breath of the Wild, I was hesitant to buy it once trailers started coming out, but I bought the game and I am so glad I did! This game has an amazing reimagined map of the classic Hyrule we all fell in love with in Breath of the Wild, If you love an open-world game and you're willing to challenge your problem-solving skills, then this game is perfect for you!

Just when you think you've started to scratch the surface of this game, you'll find out you haven't even started. This game HUUUGE. The freedom the player is given is unlike any other game out there. It still gives off those classic Zelda feels but has taken the series to a whole different level (pun intended). Could not recommend this game enough. Only wish there were more hours in the day to play it.
