The wrapping up of the series falls a bit flat. The series final was a
real dissappointment.

A bit of a lackluster "final" season.

Just overall a rather bland "ending" to a nearly perfect show.

Well, Duchovny is gone.. Gillian is mostly gone. There's Doggett and the new lady that would have continued with Doggett had the series renewed.. but thankfully it didn't and was cancelled. Still, as a completionist you should still buy this set.. and really, its not THAT bad.

I was disappointed at the quality of the writing for these episodes. It is very apparent that the show was going to be ending. I would only buy this season if you are a completest and if the price was inexpensive.

I felt that everybody was just going through the motions collecting a check. Skip this season unless you are a hardcore fan.

I loved the show but disliked the 9th season so much it's almost unwatchable.

The opening credits to the X-Files have changed into something terrible! It should have been kept the same. This is the final season of the X-Files. Don't you want to see how it all ends, even if Mulder is only in one episode? There's great guest stars this season: Lucy Lawless, Cary Elwes, John Kapelos, and Burt Reynolds. The failed series "The Lone Gunmen" is ended through an episode titled "Jump the Shark." It's a great episode that captured the essence of the Lone Gunmen, but it's still sad and unsatisfying. "Improbable" is an odd episode, yet fun. Meaningless singing is always a joy. Right? There's a sad conclusion to baby William's storyline. There's also a strange episode involving the Brady Bunch. Other episodes involve parallel dimensions, human trafficking, reincarnations, and cults. I thought the series finale was great. As people testify on Mulder's behalf, they summarize the entire series- everything that has happened in those nine years. If you forgot any of the storylines, or were confused by them, then this episode should clear that up. The only downside of the episode is that it deals with the “death” of Knowles Rohrer. Does anyone care? The only thing interesting about that character was that the actor was on “Firefly.” Awesome characters return in the final episode. Those being Marita, CSM, Gibson Praise, Krychek, Lone Gunmen, X, and SPENDER. It should be uplifting because everyone who worked on the X-Files, (Mulder, Scully, Skinner, Doggett, & Reyes), refuse to give up. But it’s sad to see what they had to sacrifice. So much loss and destruction… But there’s a tremendous joy in knowing that you’ve seen every single episode of the greatest show ever!

Funny & Action-Packed

This was a great comic spin-off from the X-Files series, involving everyone's favorite paranoid trio. A fourth character, named Jimmy Bond, is introduced. He plays the dumb character that need everything explained to him, which works out in the end because that enables the Long Gunmen to explain it to the viewers at the same time without it looking silly. Jimmy may be a complete idiot, but he's also very considerate, sweet, and loyal. Yves also makes a beautiful villainess, who is also a good guy at the same time. Although amazingly funny, this series has a lot of action in it, especially the pilot episode. Frohike even performs karate in a later episode. It may not have aliens like the X-Files, but it does deal with other legends and conspiracies, such as a car that can run on water, intelligent monkeys, and many hidden military secrets. But do keep an eye out for other X-Files characters who do make appearances - Skinner being one of them. This DVD set not only contains every episode of "The Lone Gunmen," but it even includes an episode of the X-Files, titled "Jump the Shark," which acts as a sad finale for the failed show. This episode should be watched before viewing the "Making Of-" Featurette because the featurette contains spoilers.

No Duchovny / 1 season too long

The show ran one season too long. No David Duchovny here... Also, this Blu-ray set has superior packaging and graphics ....But NO NEW Special Features. It is the same as the previous Blu-ray season 9. If you already own the previous BD an upgrade is not necessary unless you feel the need to bleed (money). If you don't own this then by all means GET THE COMPLETE SERIES!
