I've never read any of the books but once I started the first film I fell in love with the lore. The films do a great job on letting you know what is going on for those who are new and unaware. Cinematography in these films are awesome in all three films. I used a 4k LG HDR tv and Xbox One X and from my recent 4k movies I've watched this Blu-ray is a match. I can't wait till a 4k version releases with more clarity and the HDR goodness. For $14.99 you can't go wrong with this set.

Cinematic perfection is the best way to describe this movie trilogy!!! Special effects, sound and acting and direction are exemplary!!! Peter Jackson truly is the Lord of the Rings!!!

These are great movies and to have them all together in one Blu-ray pack is even better.

I have the Extended Edition on DVD, but wanted the Blu-Ray for the HD video and upgraded audio. The extended editions seem to drag on, so I decided on just getting the theatrical release instead this time around. Plus, Peter Jackson himself said, "The theatrical versions are very carefully worked out. We spent a whole year trying to get the best possible cut. The theatrical versions are the definitive versions. I regard the extended cuts as being a novelty for the fans that really want to see the extra material."

I had never seen these films and I felt like renting them from a streaming service was a waste of money, so I found this set at a reasonable price. It comes out to about $7 a movie. The picture quality was as expected, which was good. I'm not a die-hard fan, so I wasn't concerned with extended cuts and extras. I enjoyed the movies but I though the Lord Of The Rings films were better. These movies had too much CGI and you could really see the difference versus the practical effects in Lord Of The Rings.

Great films at a great price! These movies are great, but what I really loved is how efficiently they are packaged--some of my blu-ray sets take up so much space. These take up about the space of 1 blu ray. Well done!

I read lots of reviews before I pulled the trigger to purchase this set. I didn’t want the theatrical version, to many DVD’s and I wasn’t interested in all the other material offered; just wanted the three movies. Case was in perfect condition; and all three discs were scratch free and played spotlessly. What a great buy!

Before buying this collection - please note that this is NOT THE EXTENDED VERSION. These are the Theatrical Releases of all 3 movies. There are plenty of bonus features available, however. However, it's still all 3 Lord of the Rings movies in glorious HD - still a great package!

This trilogy has been my favorite ever since I was a kid, if someone woke me up in the middle of the night and wanted to watch these I would be awake in a second. I would recommend this to everyone.

Love all 3 movies and finally purchased on Blu-Ray or rather upgraded I should say . Reviews have commented on the quality of the movies and I would agree. As far as quality of the Transfers the Fellowship would be the least pleasing of the transfers not that it’s so bad it’s unwatchable but comparing the other 2 it’s doesn’t look as good. Still I’m satisfied and would upgrade again for the 4K transfers

If you like the movie, then you should get it. I have seen it a few times already. The picture quality is excellent on my 120 inch projector screen. I got it for a good price, so definitely worth it.

My 13 year old daughter and I just finished watching the hobbit movies and wanted to continue the series but didn’t want to wait for Amazon to deliver. Great price for a emergency purchase.

Great Trilogy, awesome sale price. Kids wanted to view these movies based on reading the books, now they can watch the adventures on big screen in HD and in Dolby Surround Sound.

One of the best movie series I’ve ever seen. Although it isn’t nearly as good, if you want the whole story you have to watch (prequel) The Hobbit series.

I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and this 3-film blue-ray set has exceeded my expectations. A must-have for any Lord of the Rings fan!
