This version of The Magmnificent Seven is just as good as the original.

one of the all time great western classic action pact with a great cast

Superb cast! I mean come on, Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn & Charles Bronson, etc. Yet, the underrated Eli Wallach is easily the most compelling character of all. His line about shearing "sheep" is classic. He makes a great bad guy. Watch this movie then see Eli in the Clint Eastwood flick "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" directed by Sergio Leone. He flat out steals that movie away from Clint & Lee Van Cleef in one of the great performances ever. Back to this one, Yul Brunner is the glue that holds all of the so called good guys together. Steve is cool of course but James & Charles (in lesser roles) are more interesting. Simple story but well paced, carried by the great cast. If I could go 4.5 stars I would but 4 wouldn't be justice hence 5 stars. It's a classic & I'm sure it is far superior to the remake which didn't reach out & grab me on the trailers. See it, you'll enjoy.

Another great movie from years gone by. We love the old movies.

Having watched the Denzel Washington version of the Magnificent 7, it had been awhile since I had seen the original - and, instead of finding it somewhere in the Cable Channel Guide, I thought it would be worth the investment of purchasing a Blu-Ray version if it was available - and, fortunately, as Best Buy sometimes does, I was able to pick it up. Re-purposing old movies in Blu-Ray high definition only adds to the overall viewing experience, especially in wide-screen, enhanced color and a sharp picture - certainly better than watching it on TV. Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn; the characters and the storyline have held up over time - and, you just can't beat the original music.

I really like this movie would request for more people to watch it

Action and western. Great actors, classic story, well told and filmed.

Yeah, old school, but I'm an old school guy. Apparently this movie was not received well when it was first released in the U.S. but did very well in other countries and when re-released here was more appreciated. Maybe it was competing with more mainstream movies of the time like "High Noon" et. al. but the performances were very good and the story timeless( " Think the Seven Samurai ") and you have an American western with great acting by everybody that made it into one of the classic listed films of all time.

This is a movie that my father enjoys watching when he is at home.

The movie is fun to watch even though I bought the wrong one

You don't want to miss this movie. It certainly is a classic. Typically I don't care much for westerns, however, I grew up with them in my life with my father, even my mother liked westerns. They cast of characters are magnificent in their own right. They (Hollywood) just don't make them like they used to anymore. It's a movie you will want to watch more than once, and keep in your library.

This was a brand new disc that stopped playing 55 minutes in.

As time has gone on the Western genre of movies has died out quite a but but this movie was made in the heyday of such films. If you enjoy these older movies than this one shouldn't be any different.
