This is an excellent action movie from Guy Pierce which seems to have gone unappreciated. I love the look and feel of the film it has a distinct retro vibe and the clothing and set design is really top notch. I do find some of the dialogue to be a bit lacking at times and the characters can be a bit shallow however the overall quality of all the aspects of production raise the overall product to something better than a sappy spy thriller. Guy Pierce is more restrained in this than say the Sherlock Holmes series so if his style has bother you in the past try this, it is still distinctly a Pierce film but with some refinement.

This spy action thriller is so great to watch with everyone.

This movie is quite the ride with all the action. There's a fair amount of comedy in it too. I actually didn't know this movie was a remake until after I watched it. I haven't seen the original and therefore can't give a comparison review. This movie is not good for children or young teens. It's definitely a young adult up to senior aged viewer type of movie. Since Alicia Vikander, Armie Hammer, and Henry Cavill's careers took off; they've been showing up in a lot more movies. They really did well together in this movie. Some top acting performances in this movie by far. Having seasoned actor Hugh Grant in the movie was a plus as well. I like to think of this movie as James Bond meets Jason Bourne meets Austin Powers. This is due to the spy type story line, all the action, and light comedy. It's a must watch and must own movie.

I was a bit curious to see if this was going to be the usual remake and have a vague resemblance to the original TV show. Henry Cavill was the best Superman and I was wondering how he would take on the role of Napoleon Solo. Not bad. He didn't disappoint. I wasn't expecting a clone of Robert Vaughn. Actors must play their roles in their own way. It's the personification of the secret agent the must be achieved. Cool under pressure and able to get the job done. Good action movie.

If anyone has seen the original show that aired in the 60's should be pleased with this reboot. I personally enjoyed this movie and hope there will be future installments. The movie a completely stylized to take you back to the 1960's and re-enjoy the fashions and cavalier attitudes. Henry Cavill is completely immersed in his role and plays it to a "T". Armine Hammer and Alicia Vikander are a joy to watch and their clumsy chemistry just seems to work onscreen. If you've seen the original or never even heard of the show, you'll enjoy this movie especially if you love the spy genre.
