Great movie.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was familiar with the tv show and was anxious to see how Guy Ritchie would put his stamp on it. The movie had humor but not the near slap stick that the tv show moved to in season two. Ritchie has the right blend of a story line and the interaction of the characters. I saw an interview of Ritchie and he (or the producer, both were seated together) and no camera techniques would be used that weren't done in the 1960's. I hope the sales are high enough to produce a sequel.

No Affair?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It should be called Man from Uncle: The How it All Begin Affair. The movie was good, but it didn't capture the essence of the MAN from UNCLE TV series. II know is a story of how the team got together for the first time, but was expecting the famous gadgets and "Open Channel D" pen communication scene. Hope they film part 2 with a bad a** villain from T.H.R.U.S.H. and all gadgets.

Good mix of action and humor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is a really good mix of action and humor where the three main characters play off one another very well. The plot is pretty simple as was the case with the 1960s version of the TV show with the same name. This is a movie that you can watch repeatedly as knowing the plot does not take away from the character interactions and the overall quality of the movie.

Entertaining movie if you are not a purist
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun movie, more spoof on the original show. If you liked the original show and are expecting something similar you will be disappointed. Even though I grew up with the original show I found this entertaining from the humor aspect. Solo and Kuryakin are really different than in the series and that makes it new and not a tag-along to the tv series.

Great revival of the 60's television show
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big on action and the story line was good as well. Great job in reviving the 60's TV show. Being over 50, I did miss seeing any cameos by the original TV series actors, David Mcallum and Robert Vaughn, but I thought Henry Cavill and Army Hammer did them justice. I especially enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek humor, and I look forward to seeing the next one in the series.

Reminds me of the original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The "The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (Blu-ray/DVD)" movie took me way back when the original TV series was on in the late 60's early 70s. One of the original cold war spy series at the time. This movie is action packed and enjoyed the plot and story line. If you remember the original TV series, you'll like this film. If you are young enough not to remember, you'll like this film also - but they go back and purchase the original TV series on DVD at Best Buy.

Long live the '60s
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the treatment of this film resembles little the original television series, there is a reverence given to its portrayal of the period, with a tone of whimsical satire against the backdrop of the Cold War. A pleasant entertainment with some creative cinematography. The script lacked the authenticity of the period lapsing occasionally into a modern vernacular.

Pleasantly Surprised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had not heard much about this move, and was naturally reluctant to pay $20 for it. Once the price came down to $11, I thought I would give it a try. I am glad I did. Although the storyline of these types of spy movies have run their course...and are just more of the same, this movie struck a good balance of action, and comedy that kept my interest.

Another great spy movie of 2015
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first, Guy Ritchie's take on an old school spy thriller is quite amazing. There is a level of comedy to the suspense in this movie that Ritchie himself can only pull off, which makes him one of the most unique filmmakers working today. Therefore, if you want a spy thriller that blends intense action, dark comedy, and white knuckle thrills with a dash of realistic grit, then this is without a doubt the movie for you.

Good Action Film with a few laughs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the original TV show but only slightly remember it. I don't know how well this movie recreated it or if it just used the name but the wife and I both found the movie to be very entertaining. We will certainly watch it again in the future, unlike many other movies from TV shows which are hardly worth watching once (like Green Hornet for example).

I loved it.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't speak to its representation of the original Man from Uncle. But what I can say is I feel this move is underrated. I originally watched this after watching Henry Cavil in superman. I was impressed to discover that I liked this movie and his acting in it immensely more than previously experienced. This is a fun witty engrossing experience.

More fun than Box Office would indicate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saw the usual critic negative reviews when the movie came out. However, we caught it on HBO one night and were entertained. Over the course of the next month, we caught it at various points and watched - so eventually we bought it. Fun, sarcastic humor, battle between east and west and throw back scenery. Great action. Superman vs Lone Ranger

One of the most overlooked movies of 2015!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overshadowed by a number of really good movies in 2015 (particularly another great one in the spy genre that came out around the same time, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation), Man from U.N.C.L.E. is loaded with great performances, twisting plot, brisk pacing, and fun action sequences. Shame it wasn't a bigger hit, as I was looking forward to a sequel!

Go to movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I would ever enjoy this movie in a million years. This one of my husband’s favorite movies. If nothing else is on the tube this is first in rotation. It had me in suspense and laughter. Recommended for all mature adults. It’s a must see for yourself and not hearsay. “I really doesn’t have to match...”

60's film finally gets made
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't want to show my age, but this was my favorite series growing up. It was so good to finally see this movie come out, and it was better then expected. They could not have picked better actors to portray Napoleon and Ilya, better. The movie was well shot, had plenty of action, and really kept the 60's vibe right through it. There have been talks of a sequel, and I hope that comes about.

Great Modern take on 60's TV series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie for those who remember the TV series from the middle 60s will get their money's worth. The action is great with the tongue-n-cheek dialog and the updated action will keep you guessing about the directions of the movie. The jokers are the 2 women actresses who just don't seem to be who they really are. Watch the backgrounds as the 60's really come alive. Great movie! Hope there is a second one too.

Your typical Guy Richie film

Great movie despite poor previews
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally did not want to watch this movie, based upon the action-packed previews [which I wrongfully assumed showed only a fraction of the 'action' sequences, thereby being more intense than I like]. I was wrong. This is a witty, non-gross or gory, film with beautiful interaction between the members of its cast. I wish it had done well enough for a sequel.
